McCarthy Confirms Nouble Available
Monday, 18th Aug 2014 09:13

Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that striker Frank Nouble is available for loan or a permanent move.

McCarthy says the 22-year-old has slipped down the pecking order: “I spoke to Frank Nouble yesterday and he’s available for loan or for transfer.

“He’s not daft, he’s seen other players coming in and I wouldn’t treat him any way other than with respect because he’s worked hard for us. But he’s now available because we’ve got four strikers.”

The Blues boss says the January 2013 £25,000 signing from Wolves needs to go elsewhere to play matches: “He wants to play in somebody’s first team. He doesn’t want to be a sub.

“He’s had a good spell at that and when he’s come in he’s done reasonably well, certain games better than others.

“I remember when we beat Palace 3-0 he ripped it up there for a time, and against Birmingham here. But it’s not been on a consistent basis.

“Other players have played in front of him, David McGoldrick and Murph, and he wants to play. So, if he can find himself a club we’ll all be happy.”

Fair enough, can't argue with that. Nouble always works hard but he just does not seem to have that genuine quality for this level.

All the best big frank.

Hard worker, just lacks touch, skill, finish, he's been given more than a fair chance. Hoping Marriot may be ready by Xmas to rally with some goals

Not good enough for championship however hard he works or runs, shame it took MM over a year to realise what many said straight away at the sake of better players who weren't given a run in the team

Crawley away was a disaster for Frank
In his defence- The one thing he has that others in the front line do not is pace. Bournemouth, Blackpool away, Doncaster home think he made a difference- but in summary - has not been good enough.
seems to be a good character.

We will do well to ship him out to any club.
Just not good enough at this level and will probably struggle even in the lower leagues.

I've said it a couple of times. Frank is exactly what is wrong with English Football. Big kid is spotted and what can we do with him? Nothing, he has improved a little, but there was nothing on the base to start with.

It seems that someone at the club listens to my comments. Next thing you need to do is send Tyrone Mings down a level or two to learn the game. He does appear to have some ability, but does not have the killer instinct to be a decent player. He needs to go to a place that is really rock bottom and learn to get a bit of aggression in his game. He just seems to come across as a nice guy on the pitch as well as off the pitch. Needs to toughen right up.

you know where we signed Mings from, RIPBobby? Or are you just being ironic?

Leithblue, I think we signed him from a semi pro club on the south coast. We don't need to send him back down that low. lol. He just needs to go down a division or 2 and learn his trade there.

This will be a disaster for this club. Nouble is vital to our hopes of promotion and has the potential to be a top class player one day. Disastrous decision by MM.

Funny how nobody is saying this here. Seems the whole club is in agreement that he needs to move on. Simply not good enough at this level.

Without Nouble the squad will look a lot thinner.

One thing that has always been there with frank is the work rate and effort side of things, which as fans we want to see first and foremost. Sadly thats where it ends though as he doesn't have the ability to go with it. He just isn't upto it at this level and for me it was ironic that he scored twice against col u, coz thats prob his level. Good luck to the guy, but to think he had double the amount of opportunities than taylor had is disappointing, coz did he deserve it?? Taylor has better ability than nouble without question

Two frontmen out with another now shown where the exit is; one in. So four is now considered enough. The revolving door policy adopted by clubs in this league is just crazy. Q. What happens when, say, injuries or suspensions hit one or two of our strikers? A. We go and borrow another one. We have two strikers out on loan at the moment with another now listed to join them. The chances of any of these three ever getting a run of games with us in the future looks remote to me. I suspect that MM has his eyes on someone and is clearing his decks before surprising us yet again.
