Posh Dismiss Nouble Link
Monday, 18th Aug 2014 13:42

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony his dismissed Twitter rumours linking Posh with Blues striker Frank Nouble. Earlier today Town boss Mick McCarthy confirmed that the 22-year-old is available for loan or permanent transfer.

Asked whether there was anything in the rumours linking his League One side to Nouble, MacAnthony tweeted: “Not at all. Was offered to us last week by Ipswich owner via BF [Posh director of football Barry Fry]. But not one of our targets. Cheers.”

So he was offered to Peterborough last week even though MM spoke to Nouble only yesterday out of respect to let him know he wasn't needed? Mind you MacAnthony's hardly honest is he? Shame if that was the reason why Nouble played 120 mins and Marriott didn't.

If he went to Posh, we'd just need a big sell on clause, they seem to sell everyone for £5m+!!

(Miracles could happen?)

I don't think anybody would publicly admit being interested in Nouble.

Like Peterboro' and the people there or not they do appear to pick up some good players and much too wise in this instance!

I've never wanted an ITFC player to do well as much as I did with Nouble. Always had a huge amount of critics and one of the most down to earth people you could meet. I wish him all the best wherever he goes but he's certainly not good enough for us.

Respect for Peterboro, they do produce good players, have a superb manager, and an owner who understands the fans.
Wish that were the same with our club.

Peterborough have a habit of producing good strikers, don't think they have a hope of doing anything with Nouble!! I think they have worked that one out.

I wish Nouble well. Sadly not good enough at this level.

I don't understand why three games into the season suddenly Nouble isn't good enough MM , didn't you assess your squad in pre season ? Why was he not for you or the club at the same time as Taylor and Loach he hasn't got worse in three games he has always been poor for this standard

When is his contract up?

Surco72 what an idiotic comment. He was a 25k gamble that didn't pay off. You don't know who MM has in the loan Window pipeline. He gave him a fair chance, end of.

NicRams - His contract runs to the end of the season.

What is idiotic about asking why such a poor player had played so many times and the manager taken so long to realise it? He had way more than a fair chance
And why was this not done in the summer to free up wages etc for signings before the season starts as other clubs have done?
Why have we started the season with such a small squad when we told as fans the Cressy money would be reinvested when trying to sell season tickets?
There are many idiots on here who just agree with whatever MM does with no thought or opinion of their own right or wrong

Why was this not done in the summer? Simple. Throughout the summer, he was vying with Marriott to be 3rd choice striker and, with the uncertainty over when McGoldrick would be fit again, would definitely be getting game time. Then we signed Bajner and Sammon, relegating him to 5th choice and unlikely to feature for the first team for the foreseeable future.

Would be nice to lay back BF for the Taylor 'deal'... Think ol' Baz maybe a bit to cute to fall for it though. Shame.
