![]() Monday, 10th Nov 2014 11:24 A large collection of Town programmes are set to go under the hammer at Martlesham-based auctioneers Lockdales on Saturday. Amongst a host of programmes from the 1930s, 40s and 50s are those from the 1939 home FA Cup tie with Aston Villa (guide price £100-£110) and an FA Cup tie at Portman Road against Street in 1938 (guide £100-£150). Another much targeted programme is the 1938 home Third Division South match with Torquay (guide £100-£110). There are also Town handbooks and autographs from the same eras. In addition, programmes from other clubs and internationals are amongst the lots, including the programme from the 1914 England-Ireland match at Ayresome Park, Middlesbrough. There is great interest worldwide in this rare item which is guide priced at £1,500 to £2,000. It was the first time that Ireland had ever beaten England, and they went on to win the British Home Championship crown.
