Town Confirm Chaplow Loan Extension
Thursday, 26th Mar 2015 10:53

The Blues have confirmed the extension of midfielder Richard Chaplow’s loan from Millwall until the end of the season.

As was also the case with striker Luke Varney, the 30-year-old joined the Blues for an initial month but with an agreement that he could stay for the rest of the season. The break allows the 93-day limit of his loan to stretch to the end of the play-offs.

Chaplow’s new deal runs to the final day of the regular Championship season on Saturday 2nd May with an option for him to stay until after the play-offs if required.

The Accrington-born midfielder has made two starts and two sub appearances for the Blues and scored the dramatic 95th minute winner at Watford on Saturday.

What's the point of owning a football club and being worth £600m and signing Chaplow on loan for a promotion push?

Marcus Evans you deserve to fail, stick that in one of your events and smoke it.

Pretty sure Chaplow just earned us a vital 3 points hazelton... Just because it didn't work out for him at Milwall does not make him a bad player.

What's the point in spending loads of money, increasing our already significant debt, falling foul of FFP, getting a transfer embargo, having loads of dead wood players who are only here for a final payday, and ending up like Coventry, or Wigan??!!

Go play football manager or support Barcelona Hazelton you clearly weren't at Vicerage Road you absolute waste of space. ITFC isn't for you.

Hazelton is the kind of guy who sits at his computer furiously refreshing the TWTD homepage, licking his lips eagerly in anticipation (if not desperation) for a post he can be the first to comment on.... and then that fateful moment arrives, and he ruins it by being a complete and utter plonker! I'd say go away and support another club, but the down arrows that have been lovingly clicked next to your post, remind me that the majority of ITFC fans are brilliant!
p.s good news on Vanrey and Chaplow. Keep repaying the faith shown in you by Mick and we might just have a promotion charge.

Does it not strike some folk that without ME, we'd arguably not have a club at all?

Also he backed PJ and RK....look what happened with there.

If he never scores for us again, he will be remembered for THAT finish.
It will live long in the memory............ a special moment.

I like him! Cool calm, composed, wants to play football, plus his goal against Watford helped as I don't think any of the other midfielders would have scored that or even had the drive to get in that position! I know everyones crying out for midfielders which I agree but I think we HAVE to simply a MUST play 433, we were rubbish at the start of the season then switched to 433 and flew up the table, then went back to 442 and didn't work, 433 is the one for town! As shown against Watford!

@unkniwn100:
I agree 433 should be used more often and we should have more fluidity in our formation but we played 442 for all but the first 10 minutes against Watford - people seem to not have realised that. We looks uncomfortable and vulnerable for those 10ins, so opted back to 442. Varney pretty much became a right winger.

Another good character cemented within the squad. MM knows 100 times more than all of us , now is the time to really back the manager as supporters.COYB

That goal will live long as an "I was there" moment for those of us behind that goal.
He looked good in his cameo appearance against Birmingham too.

We need to keep the togetherness re-created at Watford for these last few games.

Unknown100 I fully agree, Chaplow took his goal really well. It was harder than it looked and not many of our other players would havecscored it.

King Chaplow. Regardless of what happens, he will always be remembered for that goal and the massive away win at Watford.

However people saying it was a "great finish" are a bit naive. He was calm and composed given the circumstances but it wasn't a great finish.

He's a very good pro, great experience for the team even off the field...
What I love is the simple things he does, if in dangers, finds a pass 20 yards in space, doesn't appear to panic...
And I tell you what, I'll buy him myself if that goal gets us promoted!

Pleased with this. Deserves it for the best away day moment for years, which even surpassed the Noel Hunt one at Charlton!

Good, solid professional. An asset to the squad, but maybe not a starter in every match.

As a life long fan its people like you Hazleton who make me think I'd not want to own the club I love if I had £600m. He stopped the club from being buried under a pile of debt so high we'd have easily ended up in league one or lower. Gave more money to his managers than any previous owner and continues to protect the club from creditors by owning practically all the debt in his own companies, not through banks. If you had any brain at all you'd be thankful we have a fantastic chairmen and not some lunatic as so many clubs have.

Can only confirm what everybody on here has said apart of course Hazelton.
I would replicate my post re' Reg'Varney here complimenting the coaching staff for making these 'ordinary'players, a lot not wanted by their previous clubs into effective unit pushing for promotion.
Like JAS would still like to see Mick pull a rabbit out of hat during next few hours;but with these three 'emergency'loans who are now beginning to make an impact, plus Jan window signing of Freddie Sears, feel we may have enough to be in the mix at the end of season;or just possibly top two.
WOULD IMPLORE ALL SUPPORTERS TO GET DOWN TO PORTMAN ROAD ON GOOD FRIDAY TO ROAR ON YOUR TEAM!

Di Maria is not getting a game for Utd. Bale is upset at Real & Petr Cech is warming the bench at Chelsea. I demand these players on load & no less.
