21,000 Tickets Sold for Home Play-Off
Tuesday, 5th May 2015 20:49

Ticket sales for Saturday’s Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Norwich City at Portman Road are currently at around 21,000 with seats set to go on general sale at 8am on Wednesday (Sky Sports 1, from midday, KO 12.15pm).

Tickets went on sale to Platinum and Gold Card holders on Sunday, while season ticket holders were able to secure theirs from Monday with their seats reserved until Wednesday at 8am. Silver Card holders were able to buy their tickets from this morning.

Fans can purchase their tickets in person at Planet Blue but the club encourage supporters to buy their tickets online from ITFC Direct.

Supporters purchasing tickets once they are on general sale may buy up to four per customer number. Full ticketing details for the home and away legs can be found on the club site.

I don't understand everyone's problem with the support - you moan they're too quiet, you moan they're not always there?
We are and always have been a family club, the north stand has always been the 'noisy' end for which I've never understood why away fans were not stuck next to them.
The prices we charge as a club is why this will not sell out, Norwich are charging £25 per ticket - they will NOT sell every seat, they didn't in the earlier home game and they won't this time, people get ill on the day can't get there blaa blaa... We have more seats to fill.
If the club helped out a bit we might get closer to 30K - but I'm predicting 28.5K - which is still more than tin pan alley up the A140

Well I'm doing my bit - two tickets bought, Sir Alf Ramsey stand, back of the first tier smack in the middle - oh yes. Hope the trip from Penrith's worth it!

Secured my ticket yesterday. Driving from Inverness, going to be a 22 hour round trip for 90mins of football, I do hope we put the tie to bed in the first leg!!

We got ours! Took just over an hour but I think the website coped very well given the number of people using it. And given we no longer live in Suffolk much easier than getting to the Ticket Office at 2am.

Will sell out today, no worries.

Our ground is bigger than Carrot Road and will be fully justified when back in Premier next year----Sheepy was right to build when he did, we now have a fantastic ground and training facilities, the envy of many.

ITFC_Punch - damn you. I wanted to be the furthest-flung attendee.

I think the website's done really well. I've never seen a website where you queue to get in, but it's worked a treat. I got a bit nervous when, having chosen my tickets, it said I hadn't logged in and I thought I'd be sent to the back of the queue again, but nope...flawless.

If there's an award for best online ticketing purchase experience during high demand...we'd surely stand a chance, which reminds me of the 1984 FA Handbook which promoted Ipswich as having the highest attendance per head of population. Brings a tear to the eye.
