Fraser Signs New Cherries Deal
Friday, 14th Aug 2015 13:24

Loanee winger Ryan Fraser has signed a new three-year deal with his parent club AFC Bournemouth.

The Scotland U21 international is with the Blues for the season but he remains very much in Cherries boss Eddie Howe’s plans and was offered the new terms at the time of his move to the Blues.

“We see his long-term future with us,” the Bournemouth manager told afcb.co.uk when Fraser joined Town.

“His loan is about developing him and making him a better player, because I felt if I couldn’t guarantee him a starting spot then I needed to get him games.

“Hopefully he’ll be able to get a consistent run with Ipswich and show everyone just how good he can be.”

Town boss Mick McCarthy says he wanted to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.

“I asked Eddie about Ryan and whether we could sign him permanently after the loan,” he told the club site.

“He told me he wasn’t for sale and they’ve offered him a new three year-deal, which shows just how much they value him.

“But listen, I’m delighted with Ryan and that we’ve got him here for a year. He’s been top drawer since he arrived and he changed the game for us on Tuesday night.

“He’s a quality player and he’s fitted in here easily. I’m delighted to have him on board.”

Meanwhile, central defender Josh Yerwerth has been named in the Capital One Cup Team of the Round following his goalscoring debut against Stevenage.

Well, what utter garbage some are spouting again. This player is a class act from what I have witnessed in two games, to get 8 million plus this chap for a season is a great deal. He gets the ball, turns runs at pace at a defence and can actually can cross the ball, oh, and he has scored. Now let's think, lee Martin, Anderson, tabb, even mings........no I thought not. This is what we have been missing and it is a joy to watch, I can see a lot of penalties this season won by this chap, early as it maybe I can see him being player of the season. Noted also his understanding with pitman Tuesday night. Absolute great business and as for contacts, 12 months is a long time in football and they mean nothing these days!.

I like season long loans. Emergency loans should be used as just that. Fraser an excellent addition, who clearly wants to show how good he is. Forget signing him, because even if he is for sale, there will be other clubs in front of us I.e. Clubs who will offer a decent fee.

Agree Fraser looks first class but overall another strange move by McCarthy in transfer market in which he has had far more misses than hits. Why bring in two season loans which stunt our own players' development. Henshall allegedly on fire and the young Irish duo chomping at the bit. Why sign Stewart for three years and never play him. What's going to happen to Pitman. MM keeps signing dud midfielders. And as for club debt I think Evans 'bought' it for £ 8m so the £80m quoted just a figure on paper.
