Knudsen and Pitman Start
Tuesday, 3rd Nov 2015 19:10

Town boss Mick McCarthy makes two changes for tonight’s home game against Bolton Wanderers with Jonas Knudsen, who is back from his hamstring problem, returning at left-back and Brett Pitman coming in up front with Jonny Parr and David McGoldrick dropping to the bench.

The Blues, who are without a win in seven but have won 13 on the trot on a Tuesday evening at Portman Road, seem likely to start in the 4-3-3 formation they have employed in the last two games.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Smith, Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Bru, Maitland-Niles, Sears, Murphy, Pitman. Subs: Bialkowski, Malarczyk, Parr, Douglas, Coke, Oar, McGoldrick.

Bolton: Amos, Prince, Dervite, Wheater, Casado, Vela, Spearing, Pratley (c), Feeney, Clayton, Madine. Subs: Rachubka, Osede, Danns, Heskey, Dobbie, Twardzik, Woolery. Referee: Darren Deadman (Cambridgeshire).

Harsh to drop Parr, defence was looking more solid with him in it.

3 opponents of our next 4 are currently all in the bottom 3! if we're serious, that is definitely 9 points AT LEAST!

Where is the loyalty for Parr that has been given to Gerks

Feel sorry for parr, who IMO is better than Knudsen on current form. Have a feeling pitman will score tonight, but just hope we get the much needed win however it comes! Come on town lets get back to winning ways! COYB

I might be out on a limb with this but for me McGoldrick is the best player on the books at Ipswich and a real shame not to see him in the starting line up.

So Parr gets two games, plays well twice, we look better defensively as a team, he does a decent job going forward AND even gets himself a goal, yet still he is dropped for the bloke who has looked well off the pace ever since he walked in the building.

Poor management for me.

Getting sick of this s**t now. Parr is being treated likeca dog while his "boys" get picked no matter what.
Disgracful management from a stubborn man who will not pick the correct players in the correct positions incase it works meaning his favourites wont get back in.
Im currently under the lower SBR and im not gona lie i actually feel like walking out.
After the whole Gerken kept his place cus he played well garbage if dropping Parr for Knudsen doesnt prove to the blind fans that he picks teams on likeability on not ability then nothing ever will

You get the feeling that ME forked out a massive £350K for Knudsen that Mick is keeping him 'sweet' by not dropping him - other than that there is NO reason Parr should have been dropped!!

Big game coming up Mick...

The best player on the books, by a country mile, is Sears. Sadly, playing him on the wing has been counter productive, and detrimental.

Lol Mick! What a stupid team selection! 2 target men upfront then! Hoff ball, sears out on the wing again! Don't get me started on chambers at right back, we all know this one doesn't work! Why not play 3 centre backs and attacking wing backs, with mcgoldrick playing behind front 2. Got to feel sorry for Parry. So one dimensional Mick.

absolutely disgraceful dropping Parr to put a lesser achiever back in because he is a favorite theirs no other explanation no loyalty there then another load of boll-ks from this manager who i like less by the minute but all said and done should be three points even if he plays TC at in goal and right back or else MM.

What is the matter with MM. How can Parr and Mcgoldrick feel now. Rumour has it that MM has lost the dressing room, pretty obvious really. It will be nice to win tonight, but at what cost. What do some of our players have to do to dislodge MM's favourites. What ever they do will never be good enough for MM, still he knows best, or does he. Hey Ho I am just one of those fans who do not turn up at FPR mainly because I live in Minehead. Planned to go to 7 games away from PR but really cannot see the point of it when I am not going to be entertained. Did in the Burley days and win, lose or draw I always came away feeling I had been entertained. Listen up ME we have a great club with a fantastic history and we do not need to be listening to MM's constant bigging up of every team in this league, we didn't get if from Burley and most definitely not from Sir Bobby, so do we have to put up with it from MM now. Before all of you accuse me of being an armchair fan of ITFC may I remind you that for 9 years I lived in Ghana in West Africa and made a special effort to be at PR for at least 3 games a season, that is a 12,000 mile round trip to be at Portman Road. I WAS ENTERTAINED and that surely is why many fans are failing to pitch up now, it's NOT entertainment. Don't know the answer, but attend they do not. I am and will be very disappointed at what is currently being served up. I live in hope but more likely die in despair. Over to you MM, or just to you ME to understand what ITFC means to us fans and bl**dy well sort it out.
