Lennon: Town Pratley Link "Speculation for Now"
Monday, 11th Jan 2016 14:56

Bolton manager Neil Lennon has dismissed a report of Town interest in Trotters midfielder Darren Pratley as "speculation for now”.

The crisis club, who could enter administration in the next 48 hours if they aren’t sold, are set to lose a number of their first team players, including Zach Clough, who is set to join Bristol City, and Mark Davies, who is close to moving to Sheffield Wednesday.

According to The Sun Town have made an enquiry regarding midfielder Pratley, who scored Bolton’s equaliser in their FA Cup third round tie at Eastleigh on Saturday.

However, questioned about the link by the Bolton News, Lennon said the report was "speculation for now”, although admitted that the flow of information regarding players’ situations is less than perfect at the present time.

Pratley, 30, was linked with a move to the Blues in the summer when he was a free agent but eventually signed a new deal with the Trotters and was subsequently named their club captain.

The Londoner started his career with Fulham and spent time on loan at Brentford before moving on to Swansea and then in 2011 Bolton.

George Moncur (22) has to be the one to go for! Forest, MK Dons and Sheff. Utd interested though.

Mick will play him as a centre half.

He has an eye for goal? - he's been at Bolton nearly 4 1/2 years and has scored 9 goals! really don't think he's the goal scoring creative force we need in midfield unless Mick can pick him up for £5 and a years worth of fish and chips from Millers (that will make Lennon think again)...Mick's use to this haggling mularkey!

Bolton really have hit skid row! Wasn't so long ago they were mixing it comfortably with the Premiership elite. People in suits need to be made accountable, extremely unfair on fans. Bloody crooks in suits, in this country that makes it all alright!

TimmyH if you are going to quote stats then quote them all. Yes you are correct, but you fail to mention 26 in 177 for Swansea and 5 in 50 for Brentford.
As I said, an eye for goal.

George Moncur for me. Surely we could let the Us have someone in part exchange?

Can't say I know much about Pratley but his goal scoring record doesn't look that great when compared to the likes of John Wark who made his debut at 17 from within the clubs own youth team. That's what we should be doing not looking to spend money on old has beens.

"should be justification enough to pay in excess of £500k. "

It matters little whether it is justified, or that the player might be well undervalued. We do not have £5000, nevermind half a million.

Why do some famns imagine there is some hidden chest of money or something that can be dipped into as when needed.

Has it never occured to some fans why MM seems to be only signing freebies. We have NO money, that's why.

Where did the Knudsen money come from Harry?
The very same lines about freebies & loan signings were coming from the club before that too. It's not a massive jump from £325k to £500k and I did say it would be only in the cas of a real prospect with strong sell on potential.
Sure the £100k spent on Freddie this time last probably doesn't count as being more than £5k either in your book.

I think you're all forgetting that arguably our player of the season so far Freddie sears was bought last January for £100,000!!! If mickle feels there's a player out there who's good enough he'll try and get him. Do we need to be searching for players at Bolton who were shoddy at best when we played them?? I think not!

If anything we need a couple of players who want to come and play for us and step up like Freddie sears and just see what they can do, someone from league 1 on the cheap is always worth a punt when we already have a squad good enough for the playoffs

Let's go for the Portsmouth number 15, a ball playing centre half. Then maybe we won't hoof it quite so much?

He look assured & confident, with a real eye for a pass..

Yes could be good player but would rather see Moncur signed & a decent full back
As in Liam Palmer from sheff weds. Good player can't get into the team at the mo plus he can play cm.
u know MM he loves his versatility in players..
