Arsenal and Tottenham Linked With Dozzell
Sunday, 20th Mar 2016 09:50

Arsenal and Tottenham are chasing Blues youngster Andre Dozzell, according to various reports this morning.

The 16-year-old, the son of former Town and Spurs midfielder Jason, has long been interesting Premier League clubs as he has progressed through the Blues’ academy.

He is currently in the first year of his academy scholarship with a two-year professional deal set to kick in when he turns 17 on May 2nd.

Dozzell, who is currently away with the England U17s, who he skippers, is on the fringes of the Blues squad, having been on the bench for the Nottingham Forest game earlier this month.

It’s understood that given his closeness to breaking into the first team, Dozzell’s family are keen for him to continue his development with the Blues.

I'm sure his Dad will guide him in the correct direction which is to stay at town till he's twenty then move on look at all the players that have moved on too soon Ambrose,
ÄŽyer, Wickham.

Usual meltdown on this site when an article comes up, crikey.

The season isn't over yet - granted not going well now after yesterdays disaster but while we have a chance of play offs, lets believe.

As for Dozzell being linked, woop de do. Bishop was linked all last season, still here isn't he.

Mick has already come out and said if we mathematically cannot make top 6 some young players will get their chance. If it doesn't happen and say we don't come top 6, then would be the time for meltdown.

Essex - I don't get that point. Dyer went and we got promoted with the 4 we brought in and then came 5th in the prem.

Ambrose we were in admin so had zero choice.

Wickham was a massive offer and he's clearly got a massive attitude problem - ala refusing to train at Sunderland when it was raining under Di Canio.

Rhodes was a joke, the other three really did have to go.

Wow, talk about overreaction. It's speculation, nothing more. Of course he's going to attract interest, he looked a great talent! instead of jumping back on the Evans and style of play bandwagon AGAIN, why don't we take it as a complement that 2 massive clubs are looking at our players? this doesn't mean he's going to go. Fans and supporters need to back the club rather than jump to conclusions. Wickham was a completely different transfer and we were arguably right to let him go, has hardly ripped the premier league apart has he? understand we're in a difficult time and all us fans are frustrated but let's keep going and show our support to the club from top to bottom. COYB!

Let him go.

He knows how to kick the ball 6 feet in the air. Now he needs to learn other things like passing it to feet.

McCarthy has been here nearly 3 1/2 years and he has yet to bring ONE player through from Academy unless you include Teddy Bishop, who is always injured.

Nothing to do with MM or even Evans if Dozzell thinks the lights of London are more attractive then he will go, even if there is a contract available

Lets be honest Evans & McCarthy should take the blame if he wants to leave like Ford did.
Everyone knows that youngsters don't like hanging around old peoples homes...........It's the smell that puts them off!

Currie the point I was making that's it better for the players to stay and get match experience before they go to premier clubs benefits the club and the player.

at what point does this article say we're going to sell him or let him go?
The only person(s) who will decide if he goes will be the player or his parents.
Most of the people saying he should be in the side now probably haven't seen him play...like me, I'll add.
Good prospect and maybe the next Bishop but to those clamouring for his inclusion in the side, I'd politely point out he won't leave Ipswich for Arsenal because he isn't getting first-team football. If anything, he will get more chance of that here than with a Premier League club.

In March 2015 after the brentford game I was at the legends bar and went up and had a chat to Jason dozzell. It was a typical long ball game with few decent passes. I said to Jason would he really want his son in the team? His look said it all!

Such a shame but the reality is Andre would learn more elsewhere. Even in the arsenal / Spurs youth teams he'd learn more, and probably be appreciated more too than at Ipswich right now. For the sake of his own development, he should probably leave. Which is a real shame for us fans.

6 feet? I would hope he could do better than that.

If this happens there'll bem mutiny. Can I be the first to suggest a boycott of the club shop and catering until the club gets a f+++ing grip.

Edmundo. Ivthinkbits you who needs to get a grip. As a couple of others have already said, if spurs or Arsenal were to want him and he wanted to go, mm and Evans would have no say in it. Until he's signed a pro deal he can sign for he1 he wants to as he's not contracted to itfc.

If I am a youg 6 foot plus defener who wants to learn the game where do I go - maybe MM ?
If I am a technically gifted young footballing midfielder where do I go ? Bye Andre
Until we get this club back to building a good footballing ethos bringing through young players this will be the story
We sign the 'best young player in Ireland ' , we have Andre , we have a winger who Mick says is way better than he thought
We play a bottom 3 club at HOME needing a win and he plays - well you all know the story
He has lost the plt but got a nice contract so what and why does MM really care
I am sadly feeling like I dont at the moment and feel for any gifted player and any young promising footballer coming through
Mogga likes playing football

Some of you need to calm down before you pop a vein.
Bigger clubs sniffing around looking to pick off smaller clubs youngsters is part and parcel of the game and always wil be. Live with the rumours until they change to sold facts. Most rumours will pass on by. I see this as one of those. Hope I'm correct.
We do it to other clubs too but I dont hear anyone complaining then.
Dont see what all the fuss is about. If he goes, he goes. Like it or not we move on.

Agree if he is let go then you have to question where we are going as a club BUT that is not what this says !!!!!! Obviously he is talented & therefore "big" clubs are going to look at him but it doesn't say he is going at all !!!!
He is only 16 so is it a good idea to chuck him in now just because we want to keep him ?
He needs to countinue development & hopefullIy we will see him in pre-season & then breaking through next year ......... but think criticising Mick cause he's not playing now is mad !!!
I think people need to calm down and wait until something happens before slating Mick/Evans/club.
Not a massive fan of Mick to be fair myself & will be with you if he is allowed to go .... but can't see how other clubs rating our youngsters can be used as ammo against him this time !!!

Should be playing instead of Maitland Niles IMO, will be the final nail in our coffin if he or any of the other promising yougsters are allowed to leave before they get 2 or 3 seasons in the first team. Our club has a steep tradition for playing the youngsters, didn't the club promise we would be playing something like 50% of our own by 2017, or was I dreaming!?

Punchnohopers. Again some1 saying if we let him go. Itfc have NO say on whether he goes of not. Hes free to go wherever he wants. I doubt it would be good for him to go si early in his career as he'd probably never be heard if again, esp if he went to Arsenal. Look guys, we're all peed off with how things are at the moment BUT you can't blame the club for everything. Some things, like this, are out of their hands
