Bialkowski Wins Player of the Year
Saturday, 9th Apr 2016 20:15

Keeper Bartosz Bialkowski was named the Town Supporters Club Player of the Year at tonight’s Player Awards Evening in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite, beating Freddie Sears into second and Tommy Smith into third.

Accepting the award, Bialkowski said: “It feels amazing really, especially as I’ve gone through a lot this season and I’ve finished the season strong. It’s something special and I’d like to thank everyone.

“All the hard work pays off and massive credit to [goalkeeper-coach] Malcolm Webster, he’s been amazing, Gerks has been amazing as well this season before he got injured. Thank you.”

Bialkowski also picked up the Junior Blues Player of the Year, while Andre Dozzell was named the Dale Roberts Academy Player of the Year. The Platinum* Supporters Award went to Cole Skuse.

*Formerly the Away Match Passport holders.

First of all, congratulations to Bart on the very well deserved player of the year. Secondly, how depressing that he hasn't even played half the season and he's a goalkeeper! Just shows what a poor, unentertaining season we've had really.

Well deserved. Had MM played him whenever he was available, we would probably be in the playoffs by now.

I doubt i will be popular with my comment but i fail to see what everyone else appears to see, yes he can pull off some decent saves however he has only played 19 games this season and these have coincided with out worst form of the season, just does not fill me with confidence, only 6 wins with Bart in goal. Anyway congrats to him and commiserations to perhaps more deserving players of the season in Freddy , Tommy and Fraser.

Well done Bart thoroughly deserved . Think I must be watching a different team to some of the other contributors as can't believe Smith is in top 3, my paperboy's got better distribution skills!

A tough season for Bart but he's come back and has been MOTM for most of those games. Delighted for him to receive this award.

Well deserved Bart! the top 3 in the voting have been our top 3 performers this season(Ryan Fraser deserves a lot of credit also but sadly is not ours)with Bish and Didz coming to fitness all we need is some forward thinking tactic wise to build a side around these guys and get rid of the over hill non performing favourites, that core is worth building on but Mick is not the man to do it

Well done to both goalkeepers and MM's wise decision making on that front. Renewed my season ticket last night. Not everyone thinks MM is a dinosaur.

8th in the League a dismal season ?

I think we need to manage expectation better. There are 20 odd other clubs also trying to achieve promotion and MM has kept us in with a chance until the last couple of weeks of the season.
Out of curiosity it would be interesting to see the reaction to relegation as a result of playing attractive football. Be careful what you wish for.
