Town have unveiled their new home, away and goalkeepers' kits for the 2016/17 season with the home strip seeing a return to white sleeves and, as previously reported, a move to blue shorts. The away shirt is white, while there are red and green keepers' jerseys.

Blues skipper Luke Chambers says the squad played a part in choosing the new strips.

“The kits look and feel great, but that’s to be expected from a brand with such high standards as adidas,” he told the club site.

“We’ve all had a say in the design of the new kits and we are all delighted with them. Hopefully the Town fans will be too.

“We were disappointed to miss out on the play-offs this season but it’s made us as hungry as ever for next term and now the kits have been revealed for the upcoming campaign, we all can’t wait to get started again in August.”

In addition to the switch to royal blue shorts, the home kit will feature the more traditional blue socks, while the away shorts and socks are both white with a blue trim. The rarely-worn ‘Barcelona’ kit, currently the second strip, will be next year’s third kit.

The new kits will be available for pre-order online from ITFC Director from Planet Blue from 10am with full details on the club website here.

The home kit will be on general sale from Wednesday 1st June and the away from Wednesday 29th June, although those ordering early will get their kits ahead of those dates.

prebsa added 07:59 - May 6 I really like the away one! Home one I think is okay not amazing though. This years away kit as our third kit may mean we finally get to see it in action! I wondered why Bart was not promoting the keeper kit but Ipswich have already said he was unavailable on the day, probably to busy collecting awards. Why do we continue to make our alternate keeper kits yellow and green though.

JackSted added 08:09 - May 6 I like the away one. But for some reason the home one isn't doing it for me. Might be because of the faded strip across the middle but that's just my opinion..

Taricco_Fan added 08:20 - May 6 Love the home shirt - nice modern design and I've always been a fan of the white sleeves design. Not too keen on us wearing blue shorts though. Not traditional. Away shirt is nice but doesn't offer enough contrast from our home colours. Easy to see why the orange kit got a lot of use this year.

The league teams we'll need to wear an away kit against next season are Cardiff, Birmingham, QPR, Blackburn, Reading, Huddersfield, Wigan and possibly Brighton, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and Gillingham depending on play offs. We don't currently know all those clubs new home strips but, taking this seasons strips as an example only Cardiff & Gillingham of those have completely blue shirts all the rest have an element of white in them immediately counting out the blue or white shirts. I believe we wore our "Barcelona" shirts at Blackburn & Huddersfield this season as it was deemed it clashed with all the others by the various referees. I may be jumping the gun here but I am already sensing an issue with all 3 strips in some cases. Does this mean they'll be an orange strip required again?

Guru_of_Ipswich added 08:24 - May 6 Don't like the home kit, worse we have had for years. The away one is ok but I just wish for the days that we go back to the black and red stripes. And why has gerks been picked to model the GK kit, would have thought with all of Barts awards this year that he would have got the gig.

DurhamTownFan added 08:33 - May 6 At first look, I', not a fan. Kits should have two bold colours on them, not all these weird shades of blue chevrons. I'm sure if we have a decent season then the kit will grow on me! The most important thing is that we've still go adidas, so that gives us some pretty decent training kit to wear during the warm-up on a Sunday morning! @Blueysnosebag: I thought the same: we won't be able to wear blue, or white, or red and blue against teams in blue/white kits, so I bet £100 the orange kit comes out again at some point. Bloody farcical!

MattinLondon added 08:37 - May 6 I like both tops but blue shorts just doesn't do it for me. If Sheff Wed stay in this division then we can't wear our home kit or the away kit. And as there's blue in thethird kit does that mean that our orange third kit will now become our forth kit?

2_Goal added 09:36 - May 6 The home kit is horrible!! Just (somehow!) looks cheap and nasty for me. How do they come up with this rubbish? Like some others on here though, I think the white kit is actually pretty good. Nice and simple. Might give it a shot...
