Town Comment on UEFA Hospitality Legal Action Reports
Tuesday, 14th Jun 2016 12:05

Town have issued a statement on last night’s reports that UEFA are suing companies owned by Marcus Evans for allegedly selling unauthorised hospitality packages at Euro 2016.

A club spokesman said: “We are aware of a number of articles that have emerged online, however the matter is being dealt with by the Marcus Evans Group and is nothing to do with Ipswich Town FC.”

It has nothing to do with ITFC apart from the fact that Marcus Evans (owner of Marcus Evans Group) also owns ITFC.

Call that a statement? It might as well have read, F**k off, it's none of your business

That's sorted that one out then, nobody will ever make the link now.... with the exception of Ipswich Town FC being mentioned in every report of it, as being owned by Marcus Evans, which will no doubt mean it has an attachment to the club.

I wish our owner was hands on , as opposed to having Milne at the helm. Salary savings sould help but aleo Mr Evans sould learn to understand the difference between himself and Mr Gibson of Middlesborough. If you entertain then fans flock ,if you don't they dwindle .

Lets be honest Marcus Evans owns us, his name is emblazoned across our shirts and one assumes ITFC are effectively part of the Marcus Evans Group on some level anyway.

I think it would have been better to say nothing at all rather than issue this statement which is frankly pathetic!

My thoughts exactly RegencyBlue however this is spun the good name of Ipswich Town FC will be tarnished. Whatever David Sheepshanks mistakes and shortcomings he was a club man and supporter. Marcus Evans....................................

It is frankly difficult to work out exactly what statement the group could have put out the fact is this matter is sub judice and I don't think that they would risk any form of contempt.
It may not satisfy a lot of the fans but to be honest ME must feel enough about ITFC to put any kind of statement out.

.......... more (less than good) publicity for Ipswich Town and it's owner - What next .... ??

How anyone who really cares about our once proud Club can dismiss this as nothing - is beyond me.

We were build, administered correctly, and had ambition - what did we do to deserve otherwise .. ??

Oh dear, nothing more to add to my lengthy post, when first reported on here;but these derogatory things are becoming too frequent for my liking!

..... excuse the obvious - should have read 'built'.

Hope I haven't overdone the punctuations Kerbmeister .... !!!

I think we'll all have bigger concerns than that in approx 6 weeks from now - important few weeks ahead in terms of the squad build.

It must be summertime- frankly who cares? I would think being on the wrong side of a totally inept organisation like UEFA might be a badge of honour. Mind you I suppose they could impose sanctions & ban us from the champions league..

Evans is a tout and every major sports tournament his band of happy little phone diallers cold call selling his packages
Nothing new here
Is it good to be associated with ? No
Will it affect our chances of getting promoted ? No
Will it mean we have even less money spend ? No
Is that man in the picture really Marcus Evans ? Who knows
I am looking for the next Amir Karic at the Euros
Summer story bored now

What a silly and quite frankly stupid statement to issue----guess it reflects on how the club is being run at the moment, very sad.

Having supported the Town home and away since 1958 I have not felt as uninspired as I have since the last season ended, the whole ethos of the club that I grew to love as a boy and now approaching my pension has been shot to bits by in recent times comments from club officials(Milne anyone!!) telling us how things are going so well and that Mick is supported to the hilt compounded now from the latest statement from our owners lackies to mind our own business!! is galling while the financial input from Mr Evans may have bailed us out (initially and on going thank you) we have stagnated as a club on the field without any positive future outlook for next season(apart from the Webster signing) this proud club and it's supporters deserves more than to be treated as mushrooms leading up to what could be an investment written off as a tax loss.

therein61 ............. you've got it in one - last line being spot on.

Einstein not required to understand what the objective is - although some couldn't / wouldn't understand that.
