MD Milne Backing Remain
Tuesday, 21st Jun 2016 19:15

Town managing director Ian Milne says he is backing the Remain campaign in Thursday’s EU referendum.

Speaking to Ipswich Stronger in Europe, he said: “I believe that Britain is stronger in the EU. The main reason is that Britain’s finance sector is intimately linked with Europe and London dominates several European financial markets.

“I really don’t want to take the risk of London losing its position of one of the world’s top financial sectors.”

Someone who clearly believes everyword he is reading off the back of the cardboard with no passion. He isn't gonna swing any voters.

A single voter .. using the hallowed Portman Road stadium as a backdrop for his own opinion. I don't know if he has realised, but it is completely empty.

This country wants a shake up and being part of Europe won't do that
We'd be better off without the EU Bureaucracy interference and this country can rule itself once more and police our own borders and who comes in.

'Another rich kid' ...

It's the rich that will be best off if we leave and the poor who'll suffer most. Vote away my friend.

Mr Milne, you should be more worried about the fans voting with their feet not renewing season tickets.

That's because Marcus Evans pays his salary, & if Marcus Evans says stay Ian Milne will say stay, Marcus Evans wants to stay for the good of his multi million pound companies, like every other business man of big business. #voteleave

We do need business for a strong economy, and the EU safeguards workers' rights too. I will be voting remain, sorry Boris Johnson, Pritti Patel and Nigel Farage.

I'm confused. I thought we hadn't been in Europe for 15 years?

Do you honestly believe that dirtyboy or are you just repeating the baseless lies of politicians? Mark, Business will flourish outside of the EU red tape and regulations that hinder many British businesses, we're a consumer led economy, who wouldn't want to do business with us? People who don't like money? Can we not safe guard workers rights outside the EU

> Mark, Business will flourish outside of the EU red tape

What is your evidence for that, going against all the experts and most leading business people? The stock market fell a lot last week when it looked like Brexit was leading in the polls, and years of uncertainty is not good for business (or my shares ISA).

Why listen to the economic experts? You wouldn't listen to your doctor if you were sick would you?

Immigrants come here to work because our economy is doing so well. Crash the economy so no jobs are created and the immigrants won't come, problem solved.

Kick the Polish builders out so they can go to Mexico to build Trumps new wall.

Who says it's only the rich who want to stay? I see lots of Leave posters around Suffolk, mostly in rich farm landowner's property. Think a lot of people in Suffolk are completely deluded about what leaving the EU will mean. A return to some kind of halcyon days it will not be.

Wow I thought some people on this website were ignorant and then I read all these leave comments and my opinion of some of you has lowered even more...

Why wouldn't milne use his platform that he has created to put his views across just as everyone on here is doing. If I was in his position I'd be doing the same, it's called activism and fighting for what you believe in... equally dismissing his opinion is just wrong, he is part of a multi million pound business so has it in his best interest to vote for the best economic decision.

I personally will be voting for the decision which maintains human rights, free trade, research funding, scientific funding, education funding and giving a decision which provides something that is not a mystery. This isn't some game we can quit and return to last save on, if we vote leave we'recommend shafted for ever, if we vote remain then we can fix any problems that we may have. I may not like a conservative government but the thought of Boris in charge is enough to vote Remain alone!
