Young Striker Brown Joins Chelsea
Saturday, 9th Jul 2016 11:04

TWTD understands that academy striker Charlie Brown has left the Blues to join Chelsea's youth set-up.

The 16-year-old former Felixstowe Academy pupil was due to start his two-year scholarship this summer, having been at Playford Road since the U10s.

We understand the clubs are yet to agree compensation, while Arsenal also showed interest.

Brown broke into the Town U21s side last season and scored his first goal at that level in the 4-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra in March.

Good luck you young fool . You need to get rid of whoever is advising you . You will be lucky to make the bench in the next ten year and that's for a cup game

Really poor decision by him ,going to a better academy , with better coaching at a much bigger club and facilities playing with much better players why would he do that ? And off the top of my head are Loftus Creek and Bamford nit Chelsea academy products better than anything we have produced ? Good luck to you Mr Brown

Neil1968 How disrespectful to call him a young fool and get rid of whoever is advising him, I assume you know all the facts behind his decision ????

.......... more non intelligent posts - another player much maligned because he chooses to leave.

Shed the pathetic stance people - and understand whether he ever plays for Chelsea's 1st Team or not, he has joined a much higher profile Club, who have obviously done their homework on him, and see him as a future prospect.

Not going to do his CV any harm - is it ??

Some people have no idea at all - and probably don't understand the first thing about the game - believing that ITFC is the be all, and end all, of everything.

Which it seriously ISN'T anymore.

Richard Wright is 38 years old. His last serious season in pro football was in 2008/09 season when he was our first choice keeper. That's the Championship level, he never really made it in the Premier League. There are some keepers older than him who still play at international level so it's not because he's too old. He wasn't good enough.

Kieron Dyer, Titus Bramble, Connor Wickham, Jordan Rhodes, Darren Bent.. Some of them are good, some of them are better bot none of them are world football stars. Home grown players won't get us into the Premier League.

Charlie Brown...he's a clown.

Going to Chelsea is just like running straight into a brick wall.

Oh he would do so much better staying here with mm ...... joke. name one player from our youth team who has played regularly or even given a chance since mm or me have been at our once great club. I for one don't blame him and mark my words he won't be the last . Not only can we not compete we refuse to even try sad sad times indeed

Don't know the exact circumstances;but in the last year we have lost 3 promising players to Premier League clubs in Arsenal,West Ham and now Chelsea.

Hope somebody tried to persuade them nicely to stay,or is this now impersonal club, run by an invisible man,not bothered as they will get compensation(money money money its a rich mans world)???!!!

I fancy throwing a toy out of the pram right now myself......but firstly, is he any good? I'm thinking he must be, so hasn't progressed as well as Andre?

Evans will be delighted. I'm sure he will reinvest any compensation received in the playing squad.

Sorry times. Hard to understand how anyone can choose Chelski over ITFC, but there you are. Pity he couldn't have stayed another couple of years.
