Sereni Out Thursday, 4th Apr 2002 09:02 Matteo Sereni's thigh injury has turned out to be worse than expected and the Italian will be on the sidelines for the next two weeks. The former Sampdoria player underwent a scan which showed he has a torn thigh muscle. The keeper missed out against Chelsea as he was having trouble kicking and had been feeling the injury for a few weeks. Sereni is not happy at having to sit out at this stage of the season: "I'm very disappointed about this but hopefully with treatment I will be back in time to be available for selection for the Middlesbrough game." Mike Salmon was left out of the reserves side which won 2-0 last night and will be on the bench against Bolton on Saturday. Keith Branagan is still out with a shoulder injury.
