Sereni Out
Sereni Out

Matteo Sereni's thigh injury has turned out to be worse than expected and the Italian will be on the sidelines for the next two weeks. The former Sampdoria player underwent a scan which showed he has a torn thigh muscle.

The keeper missed out against Chelsea as he was having trouble kicking and had been feeling the injury for a few weeks.

Sereni is not happy at having to sit out at this stage of the season: "I'm very disappointed about this but hopefully with treatment I will be back in time to be available for selection for the Middlesbrough game."

Mike Salmon was left out of the reserves side which won 2-0 last night and will be on the bench against Bolton on Saturday. Keith Branagan is still out with a shoulder injury.
