Peralta Wants to Stay

Argentinian loanee Sixto Peralta says he's keen to join Town whatever division they are in next season. However, no decision about a permanent move is likely to be made until the summer.

Peralta said: ""Nothing has moved on as far as a contract is concerned since Ipswich Town spoke with Internazionale.

"I have always said I love it here at Ipswich and very much want to stay. Nothing has changed my mind.

"Obviously it would be better if we were to stay in the Premier League — the club's position would be better.

"I'm still confident, as all the players here are, that we can stay up, although we will have to fight.

"But even if we were to lose our fight, I would want to stay with Ipswich."

Town boss George Burley says that money will be the key to securing Peralta's future at Portman Road; "We can't make any decision about Sixto Peralta until the season is over.

"That is the same with all the players. The only one out of contract will be Mark Venus and, again, we will see what happens with Mark at the end of the season."

Rumours on Merseyside claim that Everton may be interested in taking the Argentinian, 24 today, to Goodison Park if Town fail to land him.
