Lincoln Replay Live on BBC One
Tuesday, 10th Jan 2017 16:04

Town’s FA Cup third round replay against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank on Tuesday 17th January will be shown live on BBC One. The game moves to an 8.05pm kick-off as a result.

The Blues drew 2-2 with the Vanarama National League leaders at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking after that match Imps boss Danny Cowley said he hoped the replay would be selected for broadcast live.

“We’d love that, we had the television for the Oldham game," he said. "It’s money that’s massive to us as a club. It makes a significant difference.

“If that was to happen that would obviously be great and would just add to what should be a really good replay.”

Each club will receive a live broadcast fee of £72,000 with the winners of the game, which will go to extra-time and penalties if not settled in the 90 minutes, claiming a further £67,500 from the FA prize fund.

The winners of the replay will face Championship leaders Brighton and Hove Albion at home in the fourth round.

The Blues, with whom manager Mick McCarthy is yet to win an FA Cup tie since taking charge in November 2012, last reached the fourth round in 2010, while Lincoln City most recently made it past the third round in 1976.

Why does the thought of town against a non league side on TV fill me with dread?

This is actually good because Mick will be forced to put out his best team and that should mean Bart and McG

Last time we were on TV for a cup game we were dire against the Saints , don't think we managed a shot on target the whole game with Terry Butcher apologising for us after the game , cant see a lot being different especially the result .MM on a hiding to nothing with this one

OH clucking bell!!!!

Will the humiliation NEVER stop......although thinking about it, why not get Alex Jones to host as an extension of The One Show.....now that would be the end.....

Hope Skuse is back for this, and Bart of course... although MM will probably play the kids and we'll get thumped.

Potential embarrassment on a national, nay, international scale.

My only hope is that this will gee up the players, so to speak.

Surely we have to play a strong team now? If we lose we'll be the laughing stock and MM would HAVE to be fired. Surely...?! If we play well there's nonreason we shouldn't win, but the players and manager don't look like they've been enjoying themselves for a while now

The masterclass of Knudsen on BBC1 for everyone to see! As a left back myself, I like to take time to anaylise our left backs, and previously I've been fortunate with Cresswell and Mings.
I'm sorry but I honestly don't think Knudsen would shine in Lincolns team and would love an explanation from Mick as to why he's still playing.
Left back rant over!

We've got nothing else to play for so there's no excuse to rest players. Play our best team and get through to play a Brighton 2nd XI at home - we may sneak a lucky 1-0 win and then we are on a cup run!

£72,000 - we can afford a new striker!

They selected it as it's a banker home win and total embarrassment to Ipswich. Let's face it our record on TV is dire but we won't need that to see us off. Anyway if we do get through Mr Hughton's boys will be too strong for us in the next round.
