New Signing Samuel Will Be a Frustrated Watcher
Friday, 3rd Feb 2017 17:29

New Blues loan signing Dominic Samuel admits he'll be frustrated watching from the stands when Town take on his parent club Reading at Portman Road tomorrow. The 22-year-old moved to Town on deadline day on a deal to the end of the season but is ineligible against the Royals.

“It’s unfortunate I can't play on Saturday because I'm ready to go and I can’t wait to get out there,” Samuel told the club site.

“I hate watching football, I just want to play, but I think it will be good for me to be watching how both teams get on.

“Obviously right now I'm here on loan at Ipswich so I want the best for the club, but I also want the best for Reading. I’ll just have to watch and see how the game goes.

“The gaffer and all of the coaches have welcomed me into the club and I feel comfortable here already. I’m just ready to get going now.”

He has certainly learnt the Ipswich way quickly by joining the frustrated watchers!

He'll be a frustrated watcher if/when he ever gets on he pitch, with the ball going over his head all the time.

I'm sceptical of this signing but I hope it works out

If he's big, athletic and works hard, he'll be just what MM wants

He along with Moore gives us other options up front and that is to be welcomed with Pitman looking lost with so little service, Sears hardly ever scoring, McGoldrick not looking a threat and playing more in midfield, and Best never to play again plus injured.

It's just not possible to fully enjoy watching loan players like this, as you just know if Samuel does well that he will either return to Reading or join one of our rivals in the summer as Evans fails to do a permanent deal.

Anyone who has feelings for the club will get behind team to ensure 20 + points for safety, then hopefully "issues" wil be sorted,

One of 7 signings, just to remind the pessimists that the season begins today.Today will be tough but a win and the play-off's become a reality.Look where Derby where when McClaren got the job,a few wins and suddenly everything is good. You can't expect the players to give their all when the fans have given up.Keep believing!COYB.
