Town to Face Charlton in Pre-Season
Wednesday, 10th May 2017 10:18

Town have announced a pre-season friendly against League One Charlton at the Valley on Saturday 29th July (KO 3pm).

The game is the second friendly to be confirmed with Drogheda United having revealed earlier in the week that this summer’s Ireland-based friendly will take place at United Park on Saturday 8th July (KO 2pm).

Manager Mick McCarthy has said the Blues will also be playing fixtures against Colchester and Southend with the dates yet to be confirmed. Town expect to announce details of further friendlies in the next few days.

Town played a friendly at Charlton last summer with the game ending in a 0-0 draw.

Superb! A daytrip to Charlton and it's my birthday too... Great chance to do some serious training for the Great British Beer Festival a week or two later.

last time i was at Charlton was 2 or maybe 3 seasons ago when we scored a last minute winner. Guy next to me was so overjoyed he dislocated his shoulder. Good times..

There really is nothing to be excited about under
this truly awful manager.

Good for me as my first football game was at Charlton, and I saw Kevin Beattie play for Stoke there (maybe his professional last ever game?). Similar club in size and supporter base to Ipswich, and a Club that has been through the mill in recent years.

Also, after this up coming season will be in the same division too. Unless the Addicks go up of course.

Yet another boring set of pre-season friendlies. Who wants to go to watch any of these games.
Time for Town to up their game, compete or get thrashed against quality teams in pre season, MM to up his game and demand ME to up his game, then perhaps we could get some quality players in to give us some entertainment during the coming season.
