Colchester Friendly Date Set
Friday, 19th May 2017 12:18

Town have confirmed that the annual friendly against Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium will take place on Tuesday 25th July (KO 7.30pm).

Last summer striker Brett Pitman netted the goal as the Blues beat the League Two U’s 1-0.

The game is the fourth friendly to be confirmed with Town facing Irish side Drogheda United at United Park on Saturday 8th July, Peterborough in a double header at London Road on Tuesday 18th July and Charlton at the Valley on Saturday 29th July.

Manager Mick McCarthy has previously said the Blues will also be playing a fixture at Southend with the date yet to be confirmed.

A list of the Blues’ so-far confirmed pre-season fixtures can be found here.

I hope that the object of the pre season exercise is to get the players used to empty stands because how things are going with the present great one Portman Road will be like that next year!!!!!
