Monday, 12th Jun 2017 20:33

Town will discover their first round opponents in the Carabao Cup - the competition known as the EFL Cup last season - on Friday at 1pm.

The draw takes place in Bangkok where the competition’s new sponsor, Carabao Energy Drink, are based.

It will be available via various platforms, including the EFL’s new iFollow service, on the Carabao Cup Facebook page and SkySports.com.

The draw will be carried out by former France and Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit, Carabao’s CEO Sathien Setthasit, the British Ambassador to Thailand Brian Davidson and the EFL’s chief executive Shaun Harvey.

The draw is regionalised and seeded based on clubs’ finishing position in the EFL last season. Town are among the southern seeds. The ties take place in the week commencing 7th August.

Last season the Blues were beaten 1-0 at home in the first round by League Two Stevenage.

Town will learn their 2017/18 Championship fixtures on Wednesday 21st June.

Personally, I love a Carabao: Coke, rum, a little bit of Malibu coconut
liqueur. Yum!

Forest Green Rovers so we can watch Kieffer Moore NOT celebrate a goal, though probably because he's NOT scored one.
If they need a club representative to attend the draw I'm up for it!

Free Carabao for all I hope! I remember getting given cartons of milk at Milk Cup matches.

The sponsors must be delighted–all round the country football fans are simultaneously saying "I couldn't give a flying *%$# about the Carabao Cup" :-)
