Moore and Emmanuel Could Join Rotherham
Monday, 26th Jun 2017 10:07

Recently-relegated Rotherham United are understood to be keen on taking Town pair Kieffer Moore and Josh Emmanuel on loan.

Striker Moore, 24, joined the Blues in January on an 18-month deal from then-non-league Forest Green Rovers and made 11 sub appearances without scoring during the final months of the season.

The one-time Yeovil man looks some way off being a starter at Town and a spell at a club in League One where he would probably play more games may prove beneficial.

Similarly, academy product Emmanuel is not likely to feature in the Blues starting line-up at the start of the season with another right-back, Jordan Spence, having re-signed earlier in the summer and ought to benefit from a stint playing regularly elsewhere. The 19-year-old has made 19 starts and five sub appearances for the Town first team.

Earlier in the summer, the Blues targeted Rotherham striker Danny Ward, who subsequently joined Cardiff City in a £1.6 million move, with some reports suggesting Town players were offered to the South Yorkshire club as part of that potential deal.

However, it’s understood the loan interest in Moore and Emmanuel is currently ongoing.

The Town squad are back at Playford Road today for the start of pre-season training with manager Mick McCarthy speaking to the media at lunchtime.

Makes sense..i'd be surprised if Moore makes any sort of impact here.

As for Emmanuel,he could be our next Giant of a defender, not just at right back but in the centre of defence..a season in league 1 would do him good.

Makes sense - I'd hope we get a recall option on Emmanuel though in case Spence gets injured as I don't want Chambers going back to right back unless it's just for a game or 2...

Happy to let Moore go, he didn't look up to it in the few appearances he made last season. I like Emmanuel, I think he's better than Spence at RB personally. I wouldn't mind seeing him start for us.

Moore going on loan, makes sense. I think he could do a good job down 1 division.
Emmuanuel, I really thought he'd be breaking into the town XI this season. He did a great job last season!

Makes you wonder why he signed Moore in the first place !!

Agree with others. Moore can go and they can keep him.

Emmanuel needs playing experience so it could be good for him but we would need to be available to recall him to cover for injuries and suspensions.

Totally agree - Moore fine, Emmanuel no.
In a back 5 he is the best option not Spence (in a flat back 4 Spence is) so losing him means both Mick maybe intends doing away with that system - which genuinely bought the only progressive football we played last year - and our players not real cover at present is Chambo - please let's not go back to that !!!!
If Emmanuel goes out on loan we will need to sign cover and where's the sense in that ?
PLEASE USE OUT YOUNGSTERS/TALENT AND DEVELOP THEM HERE !!!

Might be an indication of the addition of another target man and defender in the next few days. we have a small squad and these two have a number of first team appearances between them. so it would figure that they need better quality replacements

Think it would be a good move for both of them. Emmanuel looks very promising but 40+ games in the league below will be a better experience for him than 10-15 in the Championship. I don't think Moore will ever develop into a Championship striker, but worth sending him out to see how he copes.

I think this is a good plan for both players. The Championship is such a step up from reserve football and a season Long loan for them in Legaue One will do they both the power of good fro getting regualr footie and experience. Its a no brainer

Probably best for both to play every week, but we need to recall at short notice, just in case!

Just give them Moore.

Moore not good enough for Championship level and Emmanuel just needs to play. Think it's a good move for both.

Rotherham not stupid. Probably asking for Moore (and taking on his wages) just to make a loan deal for Emmanuel make more sense for us. Bet he doesn't do much else than sit on their bench, whereas Emmanuel should start for us and Rotherham know that too. They also know we dumb enough to stick him n the bench again.

5 point plant anyone. Josh is class so for goodness sake play him and if he goes to the Prem for millions next year then fine.....but not Rotherham right now

Personally I would give them moore but josh should be in our 1st team NOW imho.

Makes sense on Moore but MM stance on Emmanuel is frustrating esp as he so publically shot him down on a couple of occasions last year .
I can't begin to suggest o know anything about footballs wheeling and dealing but in building club relationships I find it somewhat strange that we go to Rotherham with a bid for ward ...get nothing ....and then proceed to loan out a couple of players to them...where is the you scratch our back JD we,ll scratch yours relationship .
I know it is eventually down to the individual but surely there are ways and means in delivering what is mutaullly beneficial to Bith clubs

Moors should go and hopefully it will turn into a permanent move as he's not good enough at championship level. Was worth a gamble at 10 grand but not worked out. As for Emmanuel? Think a loan would be a good idea. Hopefully get the rough edges off his game. Def a talented player but his inexperience showed on a few occasions last season, giving away rash penalties. But this would Need to be a shorter term loan so we can have a recall on him. No recall is allowed on a season long loan

Im a big Emanual fan and think he will be a big player for us , but IMO he is not quite ready for week in week out at RB in the Championship. He would gain so much from playinh week in / out in Legaue One...polish off those rough edegs as has been sugested , then next season he can push for 1st team at Town.

Yup - Moore is probably League 1 level at best. Although, to be fair not had much of an opportunity to prove otherwise.
Emmanuel - should go out on loan with recall option.

Emmanuel shouldn't be allowed to go!
Much better than Spence - a real good, strong, footballing Full Back!

Thought we were supposed to be supporting our Youth in the 5 point plan?

Can't believe people would even think of letting him go out on loan?

I'd very much like to see Emmanuel stay and be given a fair chance to establish himself as a first team regular. I think he more than proved his worth last season.
