Cardiff Accept Town Bid for Huws
Monday, 26th Jun 2017 12:58

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has revealed that the Bluebirds have accepted an offer from Town for ex-Blues loanee Emyr Huws.

“I spoke to [Ipswich manager] Mick McCarthy and we've accepted an offer and I think it's just down to the two clubs to sort the little details out," Warnock told BBC Wales Sport.

"I think the player is happy, he had a good time there and we wish him well.”

The 23-year-old Wales international joined the Blues on loan on the final day of the January window and enjoyed a highly successful spell at Portman Road, scoring three goals in 13 starts.

Warnock added: ”Right on the deadline day I said, 'I want you to stay, but if Ipswich don't come up with the wages you're going to have to stay’.

"He ended up paying some of the wages himself, which I found incredible and I can't take my hat off to him enough.

"It's paid off for him, because he's going to get himself a club and a contract where he'll be happy playing."

One player that could be vital. Felt like a Magilton type of player who could be a talisman like Magic was.

This is great, can't speak highly enough of him since he came in! Will be interesting to see what the fee is but regardless of it, i'd say worth every penny! Things looking up a little, the dusty cheque book seemingly being taken out of the draw in ME's office where it's been for so long.. Let's get another striker and midfielder and really get behind the team come Birmingham at home - COYB!

Very good news, good player and I'm happy to be wrong in my feeling that Evans would not spend this season. Based on what came in from player transfers I'd like to think it would be around 6 mill including wages.

Keep the faith.

Great stuff. Least we have something to look forward to now with a couple of signings! A few more and last season will be a distant memory! All I want is for us to compete on the football pitch no matter the team, entertain us and Evans will get his money back from ticket sales! COYB!

TFI Emyr

Would love to know if we had bids for Emyr and Ward....or if this is the Ward money. Either way, what a difference he will make to our midfield; might even raise Skuse's game.

This is great news. Christ another 3/4 quality additions and we could have a good season.
Credit where its due, well done ME, COYB.

Sign him up ASAP. He is a player who can make a difference to this coming season even if we have to pay him a little bit extra.

Excellent news! Nearly fell off my chair when this loaded up on screen! I'm not quite tempted enough to renew yet, mainly due to the price hike and the manager, but I'll give him another chance if more signings like this are made and more positive attacking football is being played. Keeping Bart is a must for me as well.

This is very good news & hopefully we will see an increased bid for McGinn accepted shortly also. Replacing Douglas, Bru & Coke with those Huws, Celina & McGinn would give our midfield a whole new dynamic. Hopefully at least of one Bishop, Dozzell or Benyu will make a serious impression this season also.
While it was very disappointing to lose out on Danny Ward, it's hard to be critical of the efforts Town have made in the transfer market so far this window. I think they have been targeting the right players and have been prepared to pay fees in excess of £1m for them. Garner might not be my number pick, but if he is to be 1 of 4 strikers & a direct replacement for Pitman, with another to come in yet in the mould of Ward, I'm well pleased with his signing.
Credit where it is due.
