Bunn Joins Bury
Friday, 4th Aug 2017 20:57

Huddersfield winger Harry Bunn has joined League One Bury for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal.

According to the Shakers, they fought off several Championship and League One clubs to land the 24-year-old.

Speaking earlier this afternoon, Town boss Mick McCarthy confirmed that Bunn had recently crossed his radar but is not the player he is currently hopeful of signing.

If and it's a big if, we were after him and lost out to Bury, then not only is there little hope but Evans should be ashamed. Looks very much like we wanted him. So, disappointing.

Beaten by Bury. We will be beaten to signings by Bury St Edmunds next. Disgrace and a farce.

If we were interested and we have lost out to Bury then it speaks volumes about the lack of ambition from Evans and Co!

Course Mick would say he wasn't interested, he knew Bury would beat us to signing him. One word, embarrassing.

Can't compete against teams like Bury. We did land Coke a couple of years back though when York City were in for him.

If we wanted him, we would've signed him. Next.

I guess that the £600k offer reported was just a speculation which is a shame as I think Bunn would have been a nice promising prospect to bring in. I know the striker is the top priority so I just hope that aforementioned money (and maybe a bit more) is going to that

If we were even in for him....

Were we really that interested in a 5.9 winger, think not. Prioritys should be in other areas.

Can we not overreact to this, folks? Just because one person we might have had some level of interest in goes to a League One club, it doesn't mean nobody is interested in coming to Ipswich. We reportedly' beat' various clubs to sign Celina this summer, clearly a decent player notwithstanding it being a loan. Huws wanted to come here. So did Iorfa.

Various people were on here the other day commenting they weren't overly impressed with Bunn anyway. Calm down.

Typical response: McCarthy clearly said today he looked at him yes looked at him: no mention of bidding: no story here & no reason to be bothered: Shame so many just like to moan hopefully the doom & gloom are not sitting next too me tomoz

Just as well for the lad, as we all know what happens to wingers that step through the gates of PR with this dino in charge.

Fair enough, for a 24 year old he lacks any ambition if he wants to go to Bury!!!!! Next.

We were never in for Bunn, that much is clear. With all due respect, no player with a serviceable brain would join Bury over Ipswich.

I believe Bunn is a winger would he play ahead of anyone we've already got I think not. We need a striker not another winger everyone needs the relax start whinging after the window closes.

MM is many things, but one thing he isn't (or doesn't seem to be) is a liar - If he said he didn't want him then I believe it. I think some of us are not looking a bit too hard to find things to slam town about - this, just isn't one of them

Ha ha ha some of you Mary's are a bloody joke. Of course Yown were not in for him, were about to sign another player. That doesn't just suddenly happen , so Bunn was NEVER a target. McCarthy has used your hype over Bunn as a smoke screen -Again, you bunch of knobs!

Bury building a good side wth a number of decent signings and have a good young manager in Lee Clark. Could be a good bet to get promotion from League 1 so maybe not such a daft move for Bunn

I'm assuming that no one has even considered that with very little mileage between Huddersfield and Bury that the lad wanted to stay up north and closer to home/family etc?

We await the arrival of a new struker and whilst i do not believe we were ever seriouly in for harry bunn , i have no confidence that Evans will be signing up anyone that will make a very big difference to what we have.

Congratulations on Bury for getting quite the coup.

However, the fact that we lost out on his player is concerning. We've got to be more attractive than a League One side from the north!

didn't he once say that if he ever felt he wasn't wanted he'd walk?...well he's still here so he is a liar

Arnie M - McCarthy was using our hype on Bunn as a 'smoke screen' - hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! - and that really makes the difference on Mick getting a signing undercover that other clubs don't know about!
