Town Unseeded in Carabao Cup Draw
Thursday, 10th Aug 2017 10:36

Town will be among the unseeded teams in tonight’s draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The draw will take place live on Sky Sports News at 10pm following the Bury-Sunderland tie.

The list of seeded and unseeded teams - which is based on league position last season - is yet to be confirmed as it depends on the result of tonight’s tie and also where the EFL put Derby and Grimsby, whose match was abandoned on Tuesday evening.

However, Town, who beat Luton 2-0 at Kenilworth Road in the first round on Tuesday, will face one of the teams below home or away in a single tie which will be played in the week commencing Monday 21st August.

West Ham away or Grimsby at home would be my choice.

Good away day or 'chance' of progressing lol!

Home draw would be good; not many appealing away trips there.

Now's the time to play the Budgies and their over estimated manager There hasn't been a better time to beat them for ages !

If the Dark Lord can get us to the semi finals (REMEMBER?) surely MM can get us to the final ! ?

COYB.

Seeding seems ridiculous. So what if two big teams meet each other at an early round - surely that's the essence of knockout football?

Budgies un - seeded ? Must be a shortage of Trill.

I'm here all week.

Really don't see why anyone should be seeded. Stinks of a fix to me so they get 2 prem clubs into the final. Was under the impression it was a knockout competition.

Hopefully will get a home tie as been to all those grounds.
Would have liked Rochdale away as haven't been there but unfortunately that won't happen as we are not seeded.

West Ham away or home would be good plus Norwich home as easier to get tickets and surely we have to beat them at some stage soon!

Nice to be in the draws and I hope the club has realised that cup runs are what a lot of fans want. The mantra about concentrate on the league is media speak - fans want to see their teams win games in any competition and getting as far as possible in the cups is great.

COYB!

As somebody has already said if we draw West Ham away the tie would be played at Portman Road due to the World Athletic Championships being held at the London stadium at the moment.

I don't mind whose 2nd string we play. For the first time in years I feel we could play some of our fringe players and still have a decent side out.

ferguson, that comment actually made me die! haha

I'd take Watford out of these choices personally, hopefully a late winner again. The "Chaplooooooooooooooow!!!!!" game was one of the best away days I've had and I think we stand a chance against most 2nd team sides judging by what I've seen so far. Went off Mick a while ago but fair play to him this season, he's changed the style and it's working. Just a shame he's so arrogant really.

Is it just me or have they just cocked up the league cup draw?

Town should have been away as the ball drawn after Palace came out was red which meant they should have been at home?
