U23s Face Palace Looking to Return to Top Spot
Monday, 16th Oct 2017 10:10

Town’s U23s will end the afternoon having returned to the top of the Professional Development League Two South table if they beat Crystal Palace at Playford Road and results elsewhere go in their favour (KO 1pm)

Gerard Nash’s side are currently second, two points behind QPR, who face Charlton at the Valley with their game kicking-off an hour later than the Blues’ fixture. Coventry, third and level on points with Town, take on Bristol City at home, also a 1pm start.

Australian striker Ben Folami (pictured) will be looking to continue his impressive goalscoring run, which has seen him net seven goals - six in the league, one in the Premier League Cup - already this season.

Central defender Tommy Smith will play his third U23s game after his hamstring injury, having been on the bench at Sheffield United on Saturday.

U23s: M Crowe, D Crowe, Webber, Foudil, Woolfenden, T Smith, Patterson, McLoughlin, Morris, Folami, McKendry. Subs: Marshall, Hayes, Clements, Dobra, Daniels.

Crystal Palace: Henry, Wan-Bissaka, Brown, Phillips, Woods, Tavares, Flanagan, Husin, Ladapo, Eyenga-Lokilo, Lumeka. Subs: Hungbo, Tupper, Coker, Mitchell, Robertson.
