Folami Hits 60-Yard Stunner as U23s Win at QPR
Friday, 20th Oct 2017 16:49

Monty Patterson scored the first and Ben Folami a brilliant 60-yard second as Town’s U23s beat leaders QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road this afternoon.

New Zealand international Patterson gave Gerard Nash’s side the lead in the 37th minute, then on 63 Australian frontman Folami beat QPR keeper Seny Dieng with remarkable effort from several yards inside his own half. Aramide Oteh pulled one back for the home side in the closing moments.

The result means the young Blues go second, now two points behind the West Londoners, with previously second-placed Coventry City not in action until Monday.

U23s: M Crowe, D Crowe, Clements, McLoughlin, Woolfenden, Webber, McKendry, Dobra, Folami, Morris, Patterson. Subs: Marshall, Hayes, Foudil, Daniels.

I am honestly really quite excited by this batch of youngsters. Potentially by playing our cards right with these guys and nurture them, they could not only take us to the premier league but maintain a premier league status. All with a minimal cost.
Also it seems as though the bloke we let go to Celtic has gone of the radar. Possibly something in it and that McCarthy was right after all

Time for first team call up surely! What more does the lad have to do. He's scoring consistently for the U23s and we're not just talking any old sort of goals either, that goal was incredible!
