U18s Draw With Millwall
Saturday, 28th Oct 2017 13:31 by James Ager

Town’s U18s came from behind to draw 1-1 with Millwall at Playford Road on Saturday morning, Jack Lankester (pictured) netting the Blues' goal from the penalty spot.

In blustery conditions the visitors opened the scoring two minutes after half-time when Marshall Wratten turned home a low cross from the left.

The young Blues hit back though and they scored a deserved equaliser on 79. Idris El Mizouni was tripped in the box and Lankester stepped up to beat keeper Sam Jackson from the spot.

Town came within inches of taking all three points in stoppage time but Armando Dobra’s long-range drive clipped the bar in what proved to be the final kick of the game. Meanwhile, the U16s beat the same opposition 2-1.

The Blues’ U23s are next in action against Colchester United on Monday afternoon, also at Playford Road (KO 1pm).

U18s: Ware, Ronan (Ogunmekan 67), Barley (Brown 57), El Mizouni, Marshall, Vega, Cahill, McGavin, Lankester, Foudil (Ndaba 15), Dobra. Unused: Egan, Murrell.
