Moore Takes Total to 12 Goals As McDonnell Also Nets
Saturday, 28th Oct 2017 19:38

Blues striker Kieffer Moore netted his 12th goal of his loan spell at Rotherham but couldn’t prevent the Millers from falling to a 3-1 home defeat to Gillingham this afternoon.

Moore, who Blues boss Mick McCarthy says he is likely to bring back to Portman Road in January, remains League One’s top scorer, two ahead of former Blue Jack Marriott, now with Peterborough, who has scored 10.

Town right-back Josh Emmanuel, who is also on loan with Rotherham, was an unused sub.

Elsewhere, midfielder Adam McDonnell pulled a goal back for his loan side Aldershot just after half-time as they were beaten 3-1 at Barrow in the Vanarama National League, the third goal of his spell, while defender George Fowler was an unused sub.

Another centre-half, Chris Smith, was in the Chelmsford side whihc lost 3-2 at Chippenham in the National League South.

I'd love to see Celina, Folami and Keiffer Moore in the same team, I'm sure that would get some bums back on seats at Portman Road. Great pity Mick Almighty isn't on the same page and sadly is never ever likely to be either.

Josh doesn,t seem to be getting much game time at the Millers. Seems a waste sending him out on loan.

well done ,yet again Kieffer, sadly your efforts are lost on McCarthy.

Joe Mattock was sent off for Rotherham today. Hopefully this opens up an opportunity for Josh to get some game time.

Moore McDonnell and Folami are the future and should be given chance in FA Cup in January under new manager or our U23 coach. We can then see if they are up to it/

Really pleased for Moore. From what I saw of him last year I felt the jump from National League to Championship was a bridge too far, but twelve goals before November in League One is a tremendous achievement. I hope he comes back in January and proves me wrong!

How about Moore's loan is a success, Folami is developing nicely and McDonnell is getting g great experience...?
Seriously, how anyone can moan at giving young players experience that might make them stronger candidates to be in the first team in the future is beyond me. When fans moan at this they make it obvious they just want to moan.

Pathetic.

It will be criminal if Moore doesn't get a chance in January. Go out to get an experience and maybe a few goals - already on 12!

Bringing Moore back is only a good idea if we play a style of football that works for him.

Don't think right now we are.....

Fantastic stuff. I keep saying it but he's proved everyone wrong. Including me!

Goes without saying that it's no guarantee he'd get the same tally for us or any other side in the Championship

TBH Most of us didn't see this coming, i know he only got minuets for us last season as we struggled to avoid a relegation dog fight but he didn't look up to Championship footie. I suppose it underlines just how much confidence is a factor.

It all comes down to style of play and confidence. So not sure that MM is the right man as judging from yesterday's game Moore wouldn't have got much support from midfield. He clearly likes the ball on the ground and is in the right place at right time.
