Arsenal Linked With Nydam Move
Sunday, 29th Oct 2017 10:39

Arsenal are reported to be ready to make a January move for young Town midfielder Tristan Nydam.

According to The Sun on Sunday, the Gunners are long-time admirers of the 17-year-old and Arsene Wenger will step up his interest during the next transfer window.

Arsenal are said to be preparing a £2 million bid for the England U19 international having been alerted that the Zimbabwe-born Blues academy product has only 18 months left on his contract.

However, that situation is largely down to players only being allowed to sign two-year contracts prior to their 18th birthdays. The terms signed on his 17th birthday are up next summer but presumably with the club having an option for a further season.

Nydam turns 18 on November 6th when it’s expected he will put pen to paper on an extended deal, as Andre Dozzell - who was similarly linked with big Premier League clubs after breaking into the the Town first team - did when he celebrated his 18th in May.

That being the case, it’s unlikely the Blues would allow the Colchester-raised youngster to move on at this early stage of his career or for anything like the fee suggested.

Nydam has made eight starts and four sub appearances for Town this season having made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup tie at Luton in August.

£100,000,000 and he's yours, Arsene. With 20% sell on clause when he moves to Barcelona. Cheers!

£2m would be an insulting fee given the silly money Premier League teams are prepared to spend on distinctly average players.

It's far to early for him to move on. We need to properly invest and play Downes, Nydam and Dozzell (when fit) as if just one of those goes onto make it at the top level it could earn us £20M+ in today's crazy market.

This would give Celina a chance on the left and Ayedemi and Skuse as central midfielders. Also, any news on Drinan.

No way should we even consider letting him go for £2 million (why did I think that in a Del Boy voice?). He's going to become an extremely great player and he should continue his 'training' with Town.

Yesterday I was amazed at how he was getting the high balls against players who were at least 6 inches taller.

Would have thought he is already worth £10 M in today's market. When January arrives probably more. Trouble is, will Evans look to cash in on yet another asset? I have little faith in ME.

Add this to the money they'll probably sell Bart for in January, from Mick's figures last week, it'll make about £3M out and over £20M in. Marcus will be so happy he'll probably offer him another contract!

2 million ?

A . If there is any truth in it NO
B. We may as well all give up for good if Evans accepted it

Can't see any truth in this at this stage, hasn't even played 10 games for us yet. imagine a midfield three on Downes, Nydam and Dozzell.

Have Marcus Stewarts shorts that he threw into the crowd at wembley play off final, long time since we had a striker anywhere near as good !!! Dont sell Nydam could be part of a good crop youngsters for the future when we get a manager that can see that and go with it.

No deal!!! The future could be extremely bright with him, Dozzel and Downes with a couple of years more experience, remembering also that Huws is in his early 20s and Adeyemi not too much older..........

English 17 yr olds playing first team football in Championship always seem to be in demand these days. He is doing well at international level and has played with the best from the big academies (City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc). A few seasons in first team here will do him and his value to harm.
