Town Announce New Shirt Sponsor
Thursday, 11th Jan 2018 12:16

Town have announced a new three-and-a-half-year sponsorship deal which will see the name Magical Vegas emblazoned across the Blues’ first-team shirts.

Magical Vegas is an online gaming operator, a brand of Daub Alderney Ltd, which is part of the Stride Gaming group. The deal, worth up to £2 million in the Championship but potentially more in the Premier League, runs to the end of 2020/21 season.

The name will also see the Magical Vegas logo replace the Marcus Evans name on the Blues’ red away shirt, but not the home kit, for the remainder of this season.

The club say that fans who have bought an adult away shirt for this season can have the Magical Vegas logo overprinted for free at Planet Blue, although not immediately. Full details will be released soon.

Children’s sizes will continue to carry the Marcus Evans logo for the remainder of the campaign but due to FA guidelines the Magical Vegas name won’t appear on next season’s junior shirts.

“A lot of hard work has taken place on both sides and it’s the start of an exciting new partnership,” Town MD Ian Milne told the club website.

Town’s director of sales, Rosie Richardson, added: “We’ve been working on this agreement since the autumn and we are all delighted it has come to fruition.

Magical Vegas is an exciting brand and we look forward to a new era of shirt sponsor at Ipswich Town Football Club.”

Konstantinos Veletas, spokesperson for the Stride Gaming group, continued: “We are delighted to be working alongside such a prestigious football club as Ipswich Town.

“It’s a thrilling new venture for us and we are looking forward to a very successful partnership over the next three and a half years.”

Magical Vegas is an online casino site offering a large selection of casino games, ranging from online slots and live casino to scratch cards and arcade games while also offering an extensive selection of exclusive games.

WORST. LOGO. EVER.

An accolade previously given to Marcus Evans. I've not purchased a replica shirt since ME's sponsorship. Certainly not going to buy one now. So poor. On so many levels. The design, the trade it represents, the misery caused by said trade. I could go on.

Another £2m to put towards Marcus Evans imaginary "£5m running costs every year". It looks tacky and cheap. Won't be buying another shirt with that on it.

It is April 1st isn't it...IT'S NOT.

I would prefer Leo Muff on the shirts instead of this unstylistic logo for the next 3 years.

COYB...anyone got the gamblers anon. number

Does anyone else see echoes of what happened to Blackburn Rovers and what is happening at Ipswich?

I was there 2 years ago. Premier standard ground, half empty, areas closed off, only hardcore supporters and a dire standard of football.

So long as the money is reinvested we have to take it on the chin. Don't like the idea of a gambling website on our shirts but this is the 21st century sadly. Hopefully ME and MM will go now, but won't hold my breath.

Well that looks awful, never understood gambling companies on shirts as you can't sell them on kids shirts

Is there anyone left at Portman Road who understands our club and what we used to stand for ..?

Once touted as the saviour it turns out Evans was the Grim Reaper all along.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse.

If you can't afford to run a football club Evans then sell it, don't compromise our integrity. Better to be scint and proud than what you are doing.

A piece of our soul sold for 2 million quid. What the hell can we do with that money anyway..?! It's chump change nowadays...

Just more proof if any was need that ME does not give a S*** about the club , surely the time has NOW come for fans to make their voices heard in opposition to what he is or is not doing at ITFC. We only have 2 options , don,t go or protest..and i,m for the latter before and /or after games..support the players but raise or voices against both ME & MM , hopefully the latter will be gone in May anyway, we really are suffering a death by a thousand (boring) games and we need to stop this slow decline sooner rather than later.

cant Richard Branson sponsor us? Virgin on our shirts would be fair more appropriate and suit our recent failure to score!

Theres a lot of pompous comments on here about the company and the trade and the harm it does. To paraphrase some its - "Oh gambling is awful harms lives cant we have Greene King back" What a load of tosh. Alchohol causes significant problems for significant numbers of people and could be argued to be as bad/worse than gambling. It seems that some commentators just want to slag it off because of the fact that it's something a Marcus Evans controlled ITFC have done and everythinganything he does will cause a negative comment. He was previously slagged off because we didn't have a sponsor. He can't win (currently on and off the pitch!). I would however agree that the logo is a tad hideous.

Glad to seen Evans off the shirts, but gambling companies sponsoring sports teams doesn't sit right.

It just makes the away kit even more unappealing.

S*** company. S*** logo, S*** industry.
Shame we couldn't have waited and tried to get Aspalls on board now they have been taken over by a big US brewer.

people like to moan for the sake of it. I have never seen a message on here saying that all of the bookies within the ground to be removed. Sky Sports and BT is just one gambling advertising station and I suspect all of the flunkies on here who don't attend matches watch it.
as for those who reminisce about Greene King sponsorship I would remind them that alcohol addiction causes just as many problems.
Now off to smoke an embassy fag, have a pint of adnams and lay a bet that there will be another 50 complaints today.
