McCarthy in France
Monday, 12th Feb 2018 10:45

Town boss Mick McCarthy was spotted travelling to France on Sunday morning.

If the Blues manager was making a scouting trip, there were only a few games taking place in France yesterday, just three in Ligue 1.

In the afternoon, Strasbourg defeated Troyes 2-1 and Nantes and Lille drew 2-2, while his former club Lyon were beaten 2-0 at home by Rennes in the evening.

While McCarthy and MD Ian Milne have both said in the last few days that no decision has been made on whether the 59-year-old will remain at Portman Road after the end of this season, the Town manager has said he is working as if he will still be in charge beyond the summer.

“I will continue doing that until the season finishes or whenever my future is determined,” he said speaking just over a week ago.

With all the French Barnsley connections that is an obvious one - BUT as much as I want him gone - Do you think a young forward thinking Chairman would want Mick ?

Border control

His occupation on his documents stated football manager

He is currently being questioned at Colchester police station for fraud and deception

Hopefully like Bonnie Tyler he's "lost in France!".

I couldn't care what he's doing the only saving grace is that he's away from the players spreading negativity(apart from no's 4 & 8who he has rewarded with new contracts while they pretend to be footballers, but of course they are proper blokes) that the players in our squad who like to play proper football are having it drummed out of them, and the better players (than the chosen few) who are ignored every match day we have under a manager with foresight and adventure a squad(apart from the favourites) than can progress!!! the whole place needs a shake up as this man has completely beggard it up!!!

He'll soon be out of that country...be too cultured for him.

Also just to add who the hell(considering his negativity) would touch a so called manager who sends his team out with the instructions "we've got a point now keep it"!! I just hope that the blind hero worship that he holds up in Barnsley swings his move otherwise we are stuck with the man as I don't think Marcus has the guts to sack him as looking at the wider picture Mick seems to hold the upper hand at P.R (perhaps he knows too much about the owners business dealings) just a thought!!

I cant see Barnsley wanting him to be honest, unless the hotdog stall has a vacancy .

Biff. Are you serious ? Not a multi millionaire ????

He's 167th richest person in UK with nett worth of £765m which makes him 3rd richest owner in our division so no one can say he can't afford it. He uses ITFC as a tax break against his hugely profitable businesses.

That's why the dinosaur has lasted so long. Promotion is not a requirement for our owner I'm afraid.

Guy just let me remind you all Evans hasn't given him a new contract in my view if he wanted him as manager next year that would have been sorted in January

Buff your right, look at what he's had to work with. Let's look. Firstly MM has been at the club long enough now to have 10 transfer Windows to create a squad, yes lots of loans but its down to the manager to to train and improve the players he brings in weather permanent or not. Other clubs with restricted budgets have managed to get the best out players with limited resources. Bristol city spring to mind. One case and point, Chris Wood, MM got him and turned him into nothing more than a Sunday league player with the touch of rhino. He goes elsewhere, Leeds, his manager gets him s orang for fun and now he's in the premier league. Let's not forget Bret Pittman, How many times did MM cal, him the best finisher at the club but never played him. Only one person to blame, MICK MCCARTHY.

........ in the unlikely event of beating the Carrot Road incumbents, watch out for him being the messiah again - Gcon, Elto, BillyBaxterwasbest, Kikapu , Tony88 - and of course Swn98 will be back on here again strutting their irrelevant stuff.

They've probably gone to France with Michael - to escape the Heat .. !!!

....... Waghorn continues to blank - bravely !! revealed that since his first few scoring games, he has been asked to sit in a deeper role.

Another player not allowed to play his natural game.

No such thing as a bad point McCarthy - What ambition ??

........ don't get your hopes up lads / lass's - surely Barnsley are not that desperate, even more so, gluttons for boredom and punishment.

Don't wish this on them.

I thought I had heard the last 'Be careful what you wish for' comment. How much lower does this club have to sink before the hoofball lovers give up. As I keep saying, McCarthy is only here because he is Evans poodle, 'Do as I say and you can have a job for life'. As much as I hate the scum up the road how long would he have lasted there? And just remember they have had 3 seasons in the premier league in the last 8 years

67 comments. Really?
"Manager goes to a football match"
Yeah, let's all slag him off while his back's turned.

Never mind Gcon. We can both take comfort from making it on to Bluebore's black list.

Ok.
Mick McCarthy.
Your football is the most boring, tedious, predictable, uninspiring load of tosh I have not only ever witnessed at Portman road but ever anywhere.

After the Burton display the 13k crowd the crappy team he's got to work with, I imagine even Mick McCarthy would be thinking of a way out. Even to a dump like Barnsley.

don't think its when his back is turned Gcon, but then you also see the matches differently to almost everyone else too. Even your puppet Swn the man who says support the team and constantly swipes at people who stay away or in his eyes don't attend ,has himself declared the season is finished he's off again , just like last year .

can we cancel his passport while he is over there ?
