McCarthy Issues Apology for Language
Monday, 19th Feb 2018 13:42

Boss Mick McCarthy has issued an apology for his language while celebrating the Blues’ goal at Carrow Road yesterday, however, he reiterated that the comments, which were caught by TV cameras, were not aimed at Town’s travelling fans.

McCarthy’s “f*** off” after skipper Luke Chambers headed in what appeared to be Town’s winning goal in the 89th minute was widely interpreted to be a reaction to some supporters’ earlier derogatory chants aimed towards him following a substitution.

“It was a big moment for us, coming so late in the game. You can get carried away in situations like that,” McCarthy explained to the club site.

“To be honest, I forgot the cameras were there and can capture every word now. You don’t think about that during the game. For those who were offended by my language, I apologise.

“I’d like to reiterate though that my comments were not aimed at anyone. It was just a reaction to the goal and what it meant at that time.”

Its not that he used the F word...its the anger and intent to have a pop at people who spent hard earned money to go to a match.

Never seen so many men act like they're offended by a bit of language from another man at a football match.

Who cares who it was aimed at? If it was at the fans, then fair play, the guy has balls for sticking up for himself.

Liar..simple as and we all know it , Yet Milne and ME remain silent , they are as much off the problem as MM is , not all his fault by a long shot , but a lot of the grief he gets is based on his management and style (or lack off.) MM has indeed brought in some decent players for which he should be given credit , but he has also brought in some right dud,s (Coke , Douglas , Nouble , Orr , Malychieck to name a few) but much of his good points are simply outweighed by his negative approach. But ME is the man that has to go for any real progression..Yes style may change and we may get better or indeed worse results , but doing nothing is not a option..we are sinking slowly and the likes of SWN , GCON are just waiting to crow if another manager does worse than MM , But unless ME shifts we will see no great change in the status quo. And we can,t continue with MM as the club is so fractured with him no matter what side of the coin your are on.

He's apologised now. He said it in the heat of the moment - which Is what I said all along. Time to focus energy towards Wednesday night. I will be travelling up from London for the game - hopefully no engineering works.

So many doormats..... You let the likes of MM walk all over your club, because you haven't got the b@lls to stand up for it, against an ageing has been with an arrogance best left in the 80's. He time has and long gone. He hangs on by his fingertips because Milne runs scared of him and the Mick lovers cannot see what is blindingly obvious to the majority, (it is not the minority that some of deluded think it is). We could focus on his positives, but the result is still the same...boring football that has already driven thousands away.

Considering the amount of abuse he gets from a minority of the supporters i don't blame him for telling them to f**k off. Too many people who talk a good job in the stands.

Now he thinks hes a bloody politician lying to his supporters....Just waiting for 2 or 3 of his party members to back him up on this irreversible issue cant believe he still here.Even getting back to the so called football match hes back 5 defenders not 3 as some think the reason for this happening is we dont keep the bloody football long enough which dosent allow our so called wing backs in defence on top of that Skuse holds in front of that 5 also young Connelly and Gleeson can pass a ball but its always pumped over there heads up to strikers that get no proper service thats the McCarthy way. Thats what our club now believes is the way forward how low can we go for gods sake...

What a load of hypocritical nonsense on here. The same people who swear and abuse the opposition and referee with moronic chants from the stands are now the guardians of moral behaviour. Wasn't a great thing to do but he's apologised. Better a passionate manager than a stiff shirt. Grow up and move on.

Engineering works you will be looking at it on the pitch.Micks masterpiece a great brick wall in front of goal.I gave up going over to see my team for that reason and many others have done the same look at the empty seats that McCarthy has amassed at PR..

I've no problem with Mr McCarthy swearing, but I'd much rather have an apology for the entire 2016-17 season.

I am clearly not an MM fan but I am not really bothered by the swearing it just shows his passion . I want him out due to the lack of football being played and the direction he is taking the club

1) Absolute certified Porkies from Mick The Nick!!! ...and typically indifferent 'Marcus The Mute' once again shows the whole sports world that not only has he no clue at all about running a professional football including in the honorable & *ethical* sense! he also nowadays (contrary to back in the merry Magilton days) has absolutely ZERO COHONES whatsoever!!!

2) What about the at the 0.04 mark of the TWTD clip equally 200% unacceptable and very UNMISTAKABLE "formarm jerk" a.k.a. "Up Yours!"???

When are you going to be *insincerely* apologetic for that one you schmuck???
.... Or are you basically quite ready as it is to say Under Oath that in REALITY that obscene gesture was "merely" directed solely at ehmmm say misses Fiona back home! :-) lol :-) ..and thus NoooNoooo not at all the vast majority of ITFC fans who don't worship you & your predominantly super flawed dispositions unconditionally???

'TERRIBILIS ARROGANTUS REX' OUT NOW!!!

Frankly i see nothing but passion, i think far to many people are hanging this round Micks neck when all he was doing was unleashing the pent up frustration from all our previous perfomamces especially against scum. Mothing to see here.

We all agree its time to move on but the lynch mob mentality over this is frankly pathetic.

Lots of stone throwers in glass houses.
