Five Changes at Brentford
Saturday, 7th Apr 2018 14:24

Tristan Nydam, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Luke Hyam, Callum Connolly and Freddie Sears all return to the Town line-up for this afternoon’s game at Brentford.

The Blues are set to start with the three-man backline of Carter-Vickers, skipper Luke Chambers and Adam Webster with Jonas Knudsen at left wing-back and Jordan Spence on the right.

With Cole Skuse missing out with a head injury - the Bristolian was helping out with the U18s’ warm-up ahead of their 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Playford Road this morning - Hyam, Nydam and Callum Connolly will be in midfield with Sears joining Martyn Waghorn up front.

Young Australian striker Ben Folami is on the bench, having made his Championship debut as a sub against Millwall on Monday, alongside Stephen Gleeson, Mustapha Carayol, Myles Kenlock and Bersant Celina who all started against the Lions.

For Brentford, Neil Maupay replacing the injured Florian Jozefzoon is the only change, while Alan Judge makes his first home start since suffering a broken leg at Portman Road in April 2016.

Brentford: Bentley, Maupay, McEachran, Watkins, Mokotjo, Egan, Judge, Sawyers, Dalsgaard, Barbet, Mepham. Subs: Daniels, Macleod, Bjelland, Yennaris, Marcondes, Clarke, Canos.

Town: Bialkowski, Carter-Vickers, Chambers (c), Webster, Spence, Hyam, Nydam, Connolly, Knudsen, Sears, Waghorn. Subs: M Crowe, Celina, Ward, Gleeson, Kenlock, Carayol, Folami. Referee: Robert Jones (Merseyside).

Probably another defeat then. Just as Norwich go two points clear of us.

Alan Judge will be keeping an eye out for Hyam at all times.

Need to win this - the Carrot Road Clan have just made easy work of Aston Villa - by ATTACKING them from the OFF.

Take note McCarthy.

Same old same old....how many Town supporters would have started with Ward Celina Carayol Kenlock and Folami? But no....yet another attempt by MM to nick a 1-0.

Looks a fairly poor midfield to me...Downes should be getting playing time here now and Nydam should be out on loan, Hyam doesn't inspire creativity so who is it up to?

Oh I forgot it's not in Micks vocabulary...

All set up to snatch a point. No change from the man who said he wasn't going to let the season peter out.

How on earth can Sears be picked in front of Folami - unbelievable as is throwing Hyam in after the incident with Judge a couple of years ago. I really wonder if McCarthy is trying to upset more than ever. Can see nothing but a defeat but you never know I suppose.

Hyam is going to get dogs abuse and will give their fans a head start.
Wrong to include him on more than one level.
Where's the attacking intent? Obviously no WBA representatives present.

McCarthy's Mission:- I'm still here to p-ss you all off more by the minute - except the happy clappers, who wouldn't even realise what I mean.

Good old Mick now it confirms why I despise him 2 pointless loans playing good old Knudson in the lineup again
The only reason Mick is staying is he would be embarrassed if the kids actually played football and won can't wait for this moron to leave

We may well nick a win, but does it really matter? How many actually care? MM yet again more likely to be delighted with a 0-0.

Confirmation that he is useless. Eight man defence. All creativity dropped. Useless.

MIND-BOGGLING "WRONG" ...BUT OH SO VINTAGE 'PROPER BLOKISH' STARTING XI!

Why is Connolly & Carter-Vickers (although the latter being an above average & very solid contributor, as opposed to the first who is way too inconsistent imho) who both as top tier loanees has ZERO future with this club in there today???

Why is the barely average ...at best! Spence, "No Goal" Sears & HyamZzzy, who all have a extreme DUBIOUS future with this club and i'ts new manager, in there today???

All at the expense of more of them top motivated ITFC youngsters ...that is in addition to the ONE "luckily" in there from the start (Nydam).

Ahh nevermind!!! It was obviously a couple of so called "Rhetorical Questions"! ...hmmmm probably much better to direct at some leftover 'caveman' from somewhere between 247 and 66 million years ago, i.e. in a time known as the 'Mesozoic Era', which of course consisted of the 3 **DINO-INFESTED** periods: The Triassic, The Jurassic and The Cretaceous! :-) lol :-)

I agree MicksZzzTactics but will be a little more concise.

Mick has resorted to type dropping both the attacking wide men,and youngster Folami;although suppose it is an away match.

With Kenlock on for our injured captain, and Knudsen moving inside;maybe a little more fluid, although would still like to see two of the three mentioned above coming on before the end of the game.

Freddie Sears anonymous;so could be won to give way,but early days.

Excuse spelling, for won read one, although wouldn't mind the former.Expect this game will be very tight with one goal deciding it,if not a 0-0 !
