Bru Leaves Blues
Monday, 30th Apr 2018 15:06

Town have confirmed that midfielder Kevin Bru has left the club with his contract up at the end of the season.

The Mauritius international was told he was free to find himself another club at the end of 2016/17 but a move to Toulouse in his native France broke down on deadline day in August and he remained at Portman Road.

Town’s midfield injury problems meant he was subsequently handed a squad number and returned to the Blues squad, making four starts and six sub appearances.

In total, the 29-year-old, who joined Town in the summer of 2014 after a successful trial having left Bulgarian side Levski Sofia, made 62 Blues starts and 41 sub appearances, scoring four goals.

A return to France - perhaps to last summer's suitors Toulouse - seems Bru's next move.

Cheers Kev.

I always thought he was a pretty decent all-round player. Technically good but lacked a bit of toughness. Never really stood out enough to stake a regular place in the team but a reliable option when required.

Some people forget the crap football played by micks line ups has anyone ever thought maybe him picking the likes of this guy might have made a difference? Like people say had a style that means something different wasn't that what fans were calling for? Good luck Bru all the best

Thought he was a reasonable player not given much of a chance by MM, like Tommy Oar, too skill full for MM.Would like to see a clear out of McCarhy's faves-Chambers had too much influence & isn't very good IMO, Gerkin, Hyam + some others. Let';s hope this is the start of something good, couldn't have got much worse or toxic.

IMO this is a real shame
Whenever Bru got the chance he always tried to play positive football and this is the reason Kevin did not get a real run in the side, as this certainly did not align to the managers caution first philosophy.
Brought so creativity to the table which is sorely missed by those picked in front of him.
I still believe he has something to offer, but would probably sit behind Huws, Downes, Nydam, Dozzell and Bishop.
Good Luck Kev, I am not really sure we saw the best of you, or probably allowed to see the best of you.
