Crowe Wins U17s Cap as England Make Victorious Start to Euros Campaign

Academy right-back Dylan Crowe won his seventh England U17s cap as the Young Lions beat Israel 2-1 at Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium in their opening European Championships group game last night.

Crowe, 17, played the first 58 minutes as the England youngsters secured victory, Manchester City’s Tommy Doyle netting the opener from the spot on 29, then after the Israelis had equalised just before the break, also via a penalty, Huddersfield’s Matty Daly sealed the win on 61.

The England youngsters are next in action against Italy at Walsall on Monday and then face Switzerland at Rotherham United in their final group game next Thursday. All England’s games are being shown live on ITV4.

Unused: Dewhurst (Sheffield United), Alese (West Ham United), Anjorin (Chelsea), Coyle (Arsenal), Duncan (Unattached).
