Town to Play Friendly at Braintree
Friday, 18th May 2018 11:50

The Blues will play a pre-season friendly away against newly-promoted Vanarama National League Braintree Town on Saturday 14th July (KO 3pm).

According to the Irons, Town have said they will take a first-team squad to Essex for the match.

The Blues last played at Cressing Road in the summer of 2014 when a young team featuring a number of trialists won 1-0 courtesy of a Leroy Lita goal.

Good that the club is still working to arrange preseason in the absence of a manager. Be great to organisd another Fortuna game with the help of fan power

Playing against a hardworking non-league and L2 team will be a good workout for what may well be a much younger team next season.

Really doing tho on the cheap aren't we. Next we'll be playing Achilles FC in Ipswich! How about testing ourselves against good technical teams in Holland as we used to in the good old days under SBR?

It's great. Pre-season is fitness, regardless of opposition, it's still 90 mins of Football for the legs. It's local, beer on terraces, a good crowd, a new ground.

Stop moaning.

More local teams the better, not much travel & less stress. Stowmarket Town or Rattlesden Utd next please.
