Bru Off to Cyprus as Preston Set to Beat Cardiff for Crowe
Tuesday, 5th Jun 2018 11:14

Released Blues midfielder Kevin Bru is closing in on a move to Apollon Limassol, according to reports in Cyprus, while Preston are said to have fought off competition from Cardiff City to land ex-Town keeper Michael Crowe.

Cypriot website 24 Sports say talks between Apollon and Bru are at an advanced stage with negotiations regarding personal terms ongoing but with the move expected to be confirmed soon.

Bru, 29, who joined Town in the summer of 2014 after a successful trial having left Bulgarian side Levski Sofia, made 62 Blues starts and 41 sub appearances, scoring four goals. He left Portman Road in April with his contract up this summer.

Released keeper Crowe is reportedly close to joining Preston, having also been interesting newly-promoted Premier League Cardiff.

Former Wales U21 international Crowe, who was called up to the senior squad by Ryan Giggs in March without winning a cap, left the Blues at the end of the season after six years at Portman Road.

He joined the academy from IK Start in Norway, the country in which he grew up having been born in London.

The 22-year-old was on the bench for the Town first team on 47 occasions but without ever making his senior debut.

We continue to make stupid decisions - this just goes to show how highly regarded Mark Crowe is.

Mark Crowe has much potential, and is a better keeper than Gerkin.

Me thinks everybody is jumping the gun with regards to Crowe.I'm sure MM didn't make this decision so let's just all wait and see.Patience is a virtue.🤔

Blueboy

It's Michael Crowe. The rest of your post is rubbish too.

Think you may find both nick pope and Crowey both wanted to leave rather than us letting them go as always reported both for different reasons , the latter at the end of his contract

Elto ....... only testing you, to see if you've woken up at last.

As for rubbish, you and your two buddies Gcon, and Swn98, should be the ultimate experts on the subject -having posted nothing else over the past season / seasons.

Paul hurst officially starts June 18 you would've to be very naive to think he is just having a complete break laying on his sun lounger in Dubai without anything football related: I'm sure he is interacting with Evans on possible transfers: Stop panicking people:

More than a fair chance that Bart will be gone, just as soon as the right Club, and offer, comes in.

Leaves us with Gerken as No 1 - I know let's get another loan in as cover - in other words nothing much changes from the normal policy - this wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Hurst would probably like to bring in his Shrewsbury keeper, but I think possibilities of any deals with that Club are dead in the water.
Quite simply, as things stand - bizarre and wrong decision over as regards Crowe (one of our own, who was definitely good enough).

Fingers ready on the minus button - the only one some of you know, whatever I post.
Show yourselves up yet again, as you do.

Good move for Bru. Apollon regularly compete in the UEFA Europa Cup so it will be good to see him in action once again. The Everton 2-2 Apollon Limassol game last season was a cracker.

Releasing Crowe may well prove to be a mistake...particularly if we lose Bart.

Quite surprised Bru has managed to find a club 300 places above us in terms of FIFA world rankings.

Never rated Webster as a coach. When Gerken was a proper bloke he never controlled his box. This for a big man is essential.I'm sure if Bart goes then a new man will be needed as no 1. Gerken is not good enough .

Good Luck to Bru. I can absolutely understand why Crowe got released, we have a good crop of young keepers coming through, in particular Harry Wright who is seen as a much younger and better prospect. He needs to start getting that first team exposure, starting U23 games and being the fourth keeper in 1st team training would presumably only complicate things and take away from his reps. Even if Bart goes then we will inevitably recruit, and potentially Gerken will move on and this Dean Henderson lad who seems to be synonymous with Hurst will come in. With Malcom Webster gone its likely a positional group we will see change and it seems like a good time to do that!

If Bart does want to leave it will be for a shed load of money and we can get a replacement. His contract isn't really up because we can extend it for a year whether he want's us to or not.

Crowe, on the other hand, was out of contract and depending on how you look at it he either left or was released. I would guess he had no interest in a new contract with nil prospect of 1st team football because if he was better than Bart or Gerks. he'd already be in the team; he wasn't.

On top of all that, none of this is any more than hearsay.
