Norwegian Blues Win Supporters Cup Saturday, 9th Jun 2018 17:51 The Ipswich Town Supporters Club of Norway won the annual Supporters’ Cup for the first time in their history in Oslo earlier this afternoon, beating Chelsea 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the final. The tournament, which has been run by the Supporterunionen for Britisk Fotball for more than 20 years, is a six-a-side competition which this summer involved 32 teams made up of more than 1,000 Norwegian supporters of British clubs. In the group stage the Blues beat Derby County 3-1, then drew 1-1 with Manchester United I, before thrashing an AFC Wimbledon side 9-0 to top the Group B table. A 3-0 victory over Arsenal followed in the round of 16 before group stage opponents Manchester United I were beaten 3-1.
Another win against a Red Devils team, a 4-1 vanquishing of Manchester United III, in the semi-finals saw the Blues through to the final where they carried off the trophy. Town's junior side finished second in their competition after a 1-0 defeat to West Ham in the final.
