Birmingham Eyeing Bialkowski
Friday, 6th Jul 2018 21:56

Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski is reported to be on Birmingham City’s list of potential summer recruits.

Former Town loanee David Stockdale and Tomasz Kuszczak have been told they can leave St Andrew’s and have not travelled with the squad to their pre-season training camp in Austria.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Bialkowski, who celebrated his 31st birthday today, is among the possible replacement keepers being considered by Midlanders’ manager Garry Monk.

Summer interest in Bialkowski has been widely expected with the Polish international, who is currently away having been given time off following the World Cup, after being targeted by Crystal Palace in January.

Bialkowski is contracted to the Blues until next summer, the club having exercised the option for a further year on his contract at the end of last season.

But the former Southampton and Notts County man is still to put pen to paper on the new deal ex-boss Mick McCarthy said had been agreed in January, which means Town owner Marcus Evans may be prepared to accept offers to prevent one of the club’s most highly-prized assets from leaving on a free transfer next summer.

Speaking in April, Bialkowski said his agent was continuing to talk to Evans regarding the new terms.

Earlier today, Scottish reports linked with the Blues with Wes Foderingham, who is set to depart Rangers this summer, and it is believed Town have made preliminary contact regarding the 27-year-old, who is viewed as a possible replacement should Bialkowski move on.

No way that he would leave for another championship club not better of than us, especially when he is happy with us and the area

If Bart does move on this summer I wouldn't say no to Stockdale as his available.

If Bart moves on it will to a Prem team not one in the Championship unless it's a side likes Swansea or Notts Forrest

Birmingham are no better than us and I can't quite see this happening. We should still try and get him tied down to a new contract. With Didz going and 3.5 million for Webster it gives a bit of room for movement, wages wise

If we lose Bart to a team like Birmingham then it really is a time to give up! It's about time we were signing new players. Not looking to sell even more from a squad which is very thin on numbers.

What would be the value in it for him? Even if mire money, uproute the family etc to move to another mid table side? Why?

Jordan Rhodes possibly on the move to Norwich too? That's will be fun then

Can't see it, he seems to be a decent, but ambitious guy at his peak, Birmingham, I don't think so!

Why the f@#k would he want to go there.Complete shambles of a club.
Don't think he'd heave us for a fellow championship club anyway.
When we signed him he was going nowhere, back up keeper at loads of clubs & he knows he owes us.

He owes us nothing. He has been our best player for three years.

He has just been to the world cup and will want to be part of every national squad. The Polish will have an enquiry into what went wrong and he may think his place might be threatened if he carries on with Town.

I hope he stays but fully expect him and knudsen to leave. Don't think Birmingham will be the destination for either of them though.

I suppose that's just wishful thinking on Monks behalf.I just could not see he would be bettering himself unles the wage on offer would be silly money, even then it would be a downward move.
Possibly only paper talk at the moment as he still has to sign a contract and other Agents have picked up on this.
Interesting few weeks ahead I think.Come on ENGLAND.🇬🇧

Evans will take the money. Reinvested in some gym equipment!!

Paul Hurst has a giant job on his hands I suspect.

Just want to say nearly all footballers will go to the club who pays him the most. This sarga is beginning to look as though Bart wants to see out his contract and then pick up a decent signing on fee somewhere ?

What makes people think that any other club is not as good as our beloved Town any player of Barts calibre will take one look and see all the best players going (if waghorn and Garner go)and see there's not much future at a club where players leave and are replaced by freebies from lower divisions.
Another long season ahead.

I would grin and bear it if he goes to a Prem side but please don't sell to one of our Championship rivals.

It would be a great blow to lose Bart.

For heavens sake, lighten up chaps!
What will be will be.
He won't go to Brum, there's a good chance he'll sign for us.
Whatever PH does will be best for the club, please don't slag him off just yet, let him do his thing.
Think positive, the future is blue, the future is ITFC.

Not a chance would he leave for another championship club, nothing can be gained from a sideways step when you're comfortable where you are.

Birmingham? BIRMINGHAM? Are you serious? Why would he go to that dump and such a poor club and team? This is a ridiculous story.

Bart clearly doesn't want to stay and hopes to get a PL Club come in for him.. not sure any will though. If only other Championship clubs come in for him - very likely, he might be more likely to stay.
