Dozzell, Adeyemi, Chalobah and Vincent-Young All Start Friendly Against Kilmarnock
Sunday, 8th Jul 2018 16:18

Andre Dozzell, Tom Adeyemi, new loan signing Trevoh Chalobah and trialist Kane Vincent-Young are all in the Town starting XI for this afternoon’s behind-closed-doors friendly in Spain, which is against Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

The Blues, who are likely to play a different XI in each half as is usual in early pre-season games, have spent the week training at the Pinatar Arena Football Center, San Pedro del Pinatar, near Murcia, while Killie have been at nearby La Manga, which is where the game is being played.

Dozzell and Adeyemi are on their way back from cruciate knee and hamstring injuries respectively which saw them hardly feature last season, while Chalobah signed on loan from Chelsea on the first day of pre-season.

TWTD revealed Town’s interest in Vincent-Young, who is available having turned down a contract at Colchester United, a fortnight ago and the 22-year-old has spent the week training with the Blues.

When you look at that starting XI it's quite exciting because that is pretty much our second team, previously injured players and youngsters. Our 'strongest' arguable players in each position aren't there even though that team still looks good

had half a fright when I saw pic ,thought Evans was going to cash him in too, and bring in a loan from lower league. Hope Andre comes through it ok .

Is it Webby Webster? Arguably Only Bart, Knudsen, Skuse and Waghorn to come back in. Huws and Bishop yet to prove they can remain fit.
Going through the squad it looks like we only have 8 experienced outfield non injury prone players, those being; Knudsen, Chambo, Spence, Skuse, Ward, Waghorn, Sears and Garner.
On another note, i'm so incredibly happy to see Andre back in the team.

I would argue a fully fit Dozzell and Adeyemi will both be first choice players. Getting and keeping them fit will be critical to whether we improve from last season.
