Norwich Winger Linked With Blues, Wigan and Bolton
Wednesday, 18th Jul 2018 12:05

Town, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers are reported to be keen on out-of-favour Norwich City winger Yanic Wildschut.

According to HITC Sport, the Canaries are prepared to accept offers for the 26-year-old Dutchman, who was on loan at Cardiff from January until May but made only three appearances for the Bluebirds, who are not pursuing their interest.

Having previously been with FC Zwolle, VVV-Venlo, Heerenveen, ADO Den Haag (loan) and Middlesbrough, Wildschut joined Norwich from Wigan for a fee in the region of £7 million in January 2017, but has failed to win a regular place in the team at Carrow Road.

Town boss Paul Hurst said early in the summer that he wanted to add wingers to his squad but having signed Jordan Roberts and Gwion Edwards may not be after further widemen, while signing a player from Norwich always proves controversial with fans.

Elsewhere, Blues target Curtis Tilt is again being linked with Rangers. The Blackpool central defender is reported to have been watched by the Glasgow club in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley.

From what I remember he absolutely destroyed us when he was with Wigan. I'd happily have him at PR.

Would happily have him here to be honest.

Pity he's Norwich though.

He's decent, but not sure they'd sell him for cheap given they paid £7m for him, especially to us as well.

I'd take him. I remember the game he hammered us against Wigan. Not sure the scum would be likely to sell him on the cheap after paying £7m though and especially not to us.

I would definitely be happy to have him here even though he has played for them !
Thought he looked handy when we played them pacey

Two wingers won't see us through a Championship season, but like others on here I wonder if we can afford him, both wage and fee wise. Good age though. Wonder why he fell out of favour at Naaridge and didn't make an impact Cardiff?

Would take him in a heart beat. He is lightning quick, and I watched him once against Huddersfield for Wigan and he played up top on his own, they played on the counter, and his pace just obliterated Huddersfield that evening.

Make this happen.

Can't see this happening at all. Surely he would be well out of our budget especially when we've still got to find money to sort out players in other positions ....Unless we are selling the likes of Waghorn to fund it all :-/

Not sure he was £7m TBH. Think that was with all the add ons which - I presume were never met (Appearances/Promotion). Pretty sure the initial fee was £4m

Ask TractorBoyTommy what he thinks of him?

agentp added 12:48 - Jul 18
BlueandTruesince82 Not sure why they wouldn't if they don't deem him good enough for their squad. Can't seem them being dogmatic y hanging onto a player they don't want when they need to rebuild themselves. In a year he will go for free anyway. If I was them I would cash while they can.
Not saying I think it will happen though.

We need a right sided winger rather than a left sided

Talking of wingers, what's happened to Danny Rowe? Never gets a mention, not even when talking about our injured players.

Nothing to see here.

He's probably on 25k plus a week. Well out of our price range.

agentp added 13:00 - Jul 18
30k was mentioned. I would imagine the would be glad to find someone to take on the bulk of that before he goes for free next summer.

Not sure that's out of our price range

They won't sell and his wages will be 25K plus per week. Unlikely link on all fronts.

PJewellisaGod If they want to rebuild their own squad surely they would have to. Imagine they would happily let him go to someone who would take on the bulk of his wages if he wasn't (at all) in their plans.

Would be a useful addition to the team, assuming he could handle the step-up to a big club.

chenners17 added 13:14 - Jul 18
He only has a year left on his contract so may not be out of our budget

Him and Harry Kane. We have about the same chance of signing either

Random league one winger £750k plus wages 52 x 10k (520k) = £1.27m (59% up front)

Wildschut. Probably free. Take on his (say 25k wages) = 49 x 25k = £1.225m (0% up front)

Wildschut £1M fee plus 15k wages = £1.78m

What on earth makes you think that muccletonjoe
