Boro Linked With Knudsen
Sunday, 5th Aug 2018 13:06

Middlesbrough are reported to be eyeing a move for Blues left-back Jonas Knudsen in addition to striker Martyn Waghorn, whose exit to Teesside is expected to be confirmed in the next couple of days.

According to the Sunday People, Boro are also keen on Knudsen with the duo claimed to be valued at a total of £10 million.

Danish international Knudsen, 25, has also been linked with Stoke City but speaking after yesterday’s match against Blackburn, manager Paul Hurst played down the chances of that move occurring.

“What I would say is to my knowledge that’s not going to be happening,” he said.

“Every time I’ve watched Jonas in the past and speaking to people about him and seeing him first-hand now, he’s a fully committed player and I certainly didn’t see anything in his performance today that would suggest he’s got something else on his mind.”

Don't expect there's anything in this Story other than some hac seeing Knudsen with a long throw at the WC and saying that would suit Stoke then thinking it's more would suit Pullis so then linking it to Middlesbrough

Wow if Boro can bid for all the rest of our starting line up from last year loans and Bart excepted we will definitely finish above them lol.

Ok dead individually, but I said the other day, how many more of our players are going to change? We can't continually sell and bring in someone else. There has to be some continuity! For me there are more pressing areas that need attention, and I'd be happy for Jonas to stay

Been an admirer of Knudsen when he first came into the team. Yet in some games his performance and contribution has been fairly average. Especially when fellow players are having an off day. That happened frequently in the last few seasons where we spent most of the game chasing the opposition.

Clearly we are preparing ourselves for League 1 football.

Time will tell.

£4m they can have him. In today's market , and he's played in a World Cup, Id say that's a reasonable fee to expect to pay.

Really wouldn't want him to go. Boro are building a promotion winning team and if they are eyeing Knudsen then they clearly see him as a great LB. He is one of our best players IMO.

We need JK he is a good central defender as well as far and away our best left back.
I can't help wondering if our manager wants to take us down a division to rebuild.
I have just been watching Leeds Utd, a decent championship club, and frankly they are 6 goals better that the Town. Our new players may be hungry but that doesn't replace quality!

Matlsa you need a glass of vino. We are in rebuild not chucking 7m around for someone like Waghorn who is nort worth 10% of that. We are not going to be top 6 neither are dirty Leeds.

I don't rate Knudsen. Never have. Slow, gets caught out too often and not enough quality on the ball. A very average player. I would trust Hurst to bring in someone better.

I'd keep him. Dependable left back and useful cover centrally if called upon. Can't see anyone either currently within our ranks or who we have been linked with that could do a better job. If he must go, we should ask £3 m. at least.

Wouldn't be surprised if it 6 m for both just paper talk

Seems like we sell under value and by at top wack,, We will be selling two of our remaining,Championship players to help Boro get promoted, in return for buying more lge 1 players at top price,in hope WE can get promoted , . l like Hurst, and want us to succeed, but this is looking like a cock-eyed way of going about it. We are going to be a ''first division team trying to jump up two divisions in one go.IF Hurst was building a team to get us from lge 1 to Championship, it wouldn't be bad,but we are looking to Premiership . Evans really hasn't learned much since he took over.

The money will be reinvested back into new recruitment , thus not troubled with departures! Hurst is in the process of building 'his team', show some faith!

Not that great a player, part of the old regime. Don't mind if he's sold, can take Chambers with him as well! !

No problem with Hurst or him building his team, just Evans ,Warktheline.

@dirty, the Evans situation will continue to split opinions, unseating an owner is complex, believe me I'm not his greatest fan, but if as it looks, Evans has told Hurst to sell to reinvest into new team, then I'll take that for now! It will boil down to Hurst's eye for a player in lower divisions, in any case, it's a new fresh, energetic approach by a young manager eager to succeed! Unlike McCarthy's last 3 years in charge where we witnessed a laborious, lazy, non motivated approach, happily running down a very good contract!

Tarricco----Jonas is a quality player and vastly under rated by people like you.

I really hope he signs a new deal----he and Chambo and Bart are the senior players we should be building the new team around.
