Five Changes as Blues Face Brentford
Tuesday, 18th Sep 2018 19:13

Town boss Paul Hurst makes five changes to his team for this evening’s home game against Brentford with Janoi Donacien, Trevoh Chalobah, Kayden Jackson, Ellis Harrison and Grant Ward returning to the side, while Jon Walters, the mystery pre-match doubt, misses out.

Gwion Edwards, Jon Nolan, Jordan Graham and Flynn Downes all drop to the bench.

The Blues look set to line-up in a 3-5-2 system for the first time under Hurst with Donacien at left-back, where he played for Accrington last season, Jonas Knudsen on the left of the back three and Grant Ward, Cole Skuse and Chalobah in midfield. Harrison and Jackson are up front.

Town: Gerken, Spence, Pennington, Chambers (c), Knudsen, Donacien, Chalobah, Skuse, Ward, Harrison, Jackson. Subs: Bialkowski, Edwards, Nolan, Graham, Downes, Edun, Kenlock.

Brentford: Bentley, Mepham (c), Maupay, McEachran, Watkins, Mokotjo, Sawyers, Benrahma, Dalsgaard, Konsa, Barbet. Subs: Daniels, Macleod, Canos, Yennaris, Judge, Clarke, Jeanvier. Referee: Darren Bond (Lancashire).

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. I would suggest that we have now entered totally clueless territory.

I still have faith that the players can turn it around, but not if we keep changing the formation and half the 1st 11 every match. How are the players meant to gel if they're never in the same team together. 5 defenders plus chalobah (defender before he came here) and skuse seems like we're holding out for a 0-0 ......oh

Worst 45 mins of “football “ I have ever seen .. totally clueless and they look as if they couldn't care less ! Who is leading this team on the pitch ?
Whatever have we degenerated to ?
Hoping for a vast improvement in the second half !

I really wanted it to work with Hurst, but unfortunately our players are not championship standard and that's Hurst fault for bringing too many lower league players in! Not sure there is an answer to this, only to say, keep playing the youngest of them consistently and hope they gel into a decent league 1 team ready for promotion next season. It's too late to bring in players who can get us out of this, so stick with it and get geared up for next season!!

pathetic pre match mystery doubt scenario.. One joke after another, and thought I wasn't going to be negative. We have uncanny knack of making average teams look decent. With respect to not a bad team in Brentford. Hey ho
