Dozzell, Sears, Pennington and Edwards Start as Knudsen Among Those to Drop to Bench
Saturday, 6th Oct 2018 14:23

Andre Dozzell, Freddie Sears, Matthew Pennington and Gwion Edwards start for the Blues at Swansea City with Jonas Knudsen, Jon Nolan, Kayden Jackson and Jordan Graham dropping to the bench.

Knudsen’s usual left-back role is set to go to Janoi Donacien, who moves from right-back with Matthew Pennington returning from his one-match ban. Skipper Luke Chambers and Toto Nsiala continue at the centre of the defence ahead of keeper Dean Gerken.

Cole Skuse and Trevoh Chalobah will be in their usual deeper midfield roles with Dozzell, making his first start since the opening day of last season, coming in for Nolan ahead of them.

Edwards, facing the club where he came through the youth ranks, will be on the right with Grant Ward on the left and Freddie Sears the lone striker.

Young striker Jack Lankester is on the bench for the senior side in a competitive fixture for the first time and has been handed the number 36 shirt. Another academy product, left-back Bailey Clements, also made the trip to Wales but doesn’t make the 18.

Former Blues loanee Bersant Celina starts for the Swans, while another of last season’s Town loan players, Cameron Carter-Vickers, is on the bench.

Swansea: Nordfeldt, Van der Hoorn (c), McBurnie, Celina, Carroll, James, Grimes, Rodon, Roberts, Naughton, Byers. Subs: Mulder, Olsson, Fer, Asoro, Carter-Vickers, McKay, Fulton.

Town: Gerken, Pennington, Nsiala, Chambers (c), Donacien, Skuse, Chalobah, Edwards, Dozzell, Ward, Sears. Subs: Bialkowski, Knudsen, Jackson, Nolan, Graham, Downes, Lankester. Referee: Oliver Langford (West Midlands).

WOW! a couple of cartoon -like owngoals & thus far it's practically smells like "Grand Larceny" on our part.... check these stats:

Possession 79% to 21%!

Accurate Passes: 382(89%) to 68(65%)!

Big chances missed: 3 to 1

But who cares right.... not even their former gaffer Laudrup who allegedly was interviewed early on by Scrooge but turned away, due to well him being Scrooge of course??? LOL

Bob7881 ...... sad you're such a miserable basket, when we're winning.

Don't despair, it's only half-time - plenty of time for much to happen !!

A nice portion of humble pie for everyone. The 1st 2 pages of posts are so stupid its untrue. Some people shouldn't have a laptop let alone an opinion. Let the guy get on with the job and start supporting the team if you comically believe that you are supporters. I second the earlier post that commented that there will be a lot of unhappy people on here tonight,as losing to be proved right is what 'gets them off'. The most exciting game ive attended for many yrs. Gerks,Chambers and Skuse were all excellent. That should cause uncontrollable bouts of tears for some !!
