Arsenal and Spurs Linked With Renewed Dozzell Interest
Sunday, 7th Oct 2018 10:34

Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly set to rekindle their interest in Blues midfielder Andre Dozzell now he has returned from his long spell on the sidelines with injury.

According to a somewhat speculative piece in the Sunday Mirror the North London clubs were both keen on the 19-year-old prior to his cruciate knee ligament injury and are “ready to revive” their interest now he is back in first-team action.

The former Copleston High School pupil played 14 minutes as a sub in Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough before making his first start since the opening day of last season in yesterday's 3-2 victory at Swansea.

Dozzell is set to train with the England U20s during the international break but along with Town team-mate Flynn Downes will not play in their friendlies against Italy and the Czech Republic, while Blues loanee Trevoh Chalobah is a full member of the party.

arsenal and spurs two words for ya, last word is off! can you guess what the first word is? really hope we can keep hold of dozzell. dozzell needs to play if fit, is miles better than nolan imo. please town see some sense here, if he stays and has a few good seasons he would be worth more. dont get me wrong though if andre does well for us over the next few seasons and wants a big move it wouldnt be right to stand in his way either, would just love to see him doing the business for town for a while yet as he is a joy to watch. Marcus make sure you do the right thing!

His dad will keep his feet on the ground.
He'll know from experience it's better for him to get regular 1st team football and be the fans favourite for a couple of seasons than be a bench warmer at spurs.
Not going to happen.

The vultures are circling - they can have him for £30M (and a clause that all money has to be reinvested into the team) :)

Actually think the story is rubbish. He needs a season at least of playing regularly - 60 or 70 minutes a game - to get that knee in tip top condition.

One bad tackle could end all that. Anyway Arsenal don't buy English players!!

Hursts comments about Dozzell have been consistently negative and summed up as he ain't as good as everyone here in Ipswich seems to think. On that basis no surprise if he is sold to fund the purchase of a couple more wingers from league 1

Bossman. Please can you point out Hurst's consistently negative comments about AD.
All I've seen is how they want to look after his knee.
Didn't take him long to put him in the team once he thought he was fit.

Sorry but we've got simply no chance of hanging onto him. When we sell him I would love Town to arrange a season long loan back to us as part of the deal, and next season , if he's not in the PL senior squad , to be allowed to return to us again on season long loan.

The reality is we are in the hands of Marcus Evans. Waghorn, Garner and Webster were sold. Around half of the money was reinvested into the playing squad. Will Evans look to cash in again? He sold Mings, Wickham, Cresswell and plenty of others ...

Let's hope we don't, but I wouldn't rule it out.
