West Brom Match Moves for Sky
Wednesday, 10th Oct 2018 15:18

Town’s home game against West Brom has moved forward a day to Friday 23rd November for live Sky TV coverage (KO 7.45pm). The match had originally been set for the following afternoon.

West Brom, who were most recently at Portman Road in December 2010 when they were beaten 1-0 in a Carling Cup quarter-final, are currently second in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League in May.

Meanwhile, former Blues right-back Fabian Wilnis, 48, has been appointed the head U19s coach at Dutch club VV Nieuwerkerk.

Sky has been ruining football for years. I guess some have only just woken up to this.

Shouldn't keep moving games during the season. It's not fair on the fans near and far who make arrangements to attend well in advance.

Just can't understand why Sky would want to show matches like this. Apart from ITFC fans who cannot make it or are 'fans' in name only and of course WBA fans, who on earth would want to watch a game like this. If we take two teams of comparable level, say Millwall v Middlesbrough, how many of us would set time aside to watch that.
Fortunately I live locally so will be at PR but do feel for our distant season ticket holders especially those trying to negotiate the A14 around Cambridge on a Friday teatime, who will now miss what was one of top games in our fixture list. In addition we normally play rubbish when on TV . Apart from the FA cup final and the play off final, have we ever won a televised match?
I don't suppose that the club have any power to refuse the fixture change. Hate you Sky TV.

Crap.

Hello A14 at night again, no doubt more closures getting back.

As said Sky ruining football, but I cancelled several seasons ago, refuse to contribute to the money pit.

I don't believe it. I was bringing my 2 grandchildren all the way from grimsby to watch their first town game.No way they can get off school for a Friday game.

I don't have and will never have Sky, they have destroyed the Premier league, with high wages, greedy mercenary footballers and little chance for local players to progress at a high level (see England team).
Finally, Friday night football doesn't work but having said all that I will have to go to the match as I am a season ticket holder and will support the team. Overall, very annoyed.

While not adversely affected by this myself, it's utterly ridiculous that Sky are allowed to move fixtures once the season is underway. It's us real fans who suffer, just so a few armchair fans get what is perceived to be a slightly more entertaining fixture?

I mean, how many impartial fans are going to watch Ipswich v West Brom on a Friday night anyway? Does this really equal any significant increase in revenue for Sky?

I assume any season ticket holders and other fans who have pre booked travel arrangements etc for the Saturday will be reimbursed . If not just another example of the rot that's set in

Proof once again that Sky is more important to the Clubs, than the home grown fan.
How can that be right ?
