Town Match Fans' Charity Ticket Donations
Friday, 16th Nov 2018 11:23

Town are matching fans’ charity ticket donations for the West Brom game at Portman Road a week today.

Season ticket holder and one-time TWTD contributor Karl Fuller offered two tickets to the match to someone who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to go via social media and other supporters quickly joined him in the gesture with a total of £2,400 ultimately being raised. The current players gave 20 tickets through skipper Luke Chambers, while an ex-Blue also donated. With Town's contribution, the number of tickets totals 860.

Those tickets are to be donated to local charities and schools, while the club will be offering the same number of seats to the four charities they are primarily working with this season: EACH, Suffolk Mind, Samaritans and The Elena Baltacha Foundation.

"I felt I wanted to do something, and it's been overwhelming," Fuller, 47, told BBC Suffolk.

"Tickets are cheaper that night anyway, so I reckoned others might pitch in, but it's been unbelievable."

Town spokesman Steve Pearce said: "It's a great idea from Karl that has obviously been well supported by other Town fans."

The Blues announced the launch of their new tickets for schools scheme yesterday, while prices for the West Brom game are reduced across the board with adult tickets £10.

Well done all round. Believe it was Luke Chambers from the current squad who contributed and got the players to donate some of their complimentary tickets 👏🏻

Really good read! Great form from Karl Fuller and everyone involved.

Its great to see how together everyone is around the club, considering where we are in the league.

I've been really impressed with Paul Lambert's appointment and believe he will keep us in the Championship.

All season, (and earlier) this club has brought tears to my eyes for all the wrong reasons.
This has done it for the right reasons.

Well done Karl, mystery "current player", "ex blue", ITFC, fans and all those involved in donating time and money to it.

Proud to be ITFC.
