Town Advise Fans to Arrive Early
Friday, 23rd Nov 2018 09:48

Town are advising fans to arrive early for this evening’s home game against West Brom with nearly 22,000 tickets having been sold (KO 7.45pm).

With the Black Friday match live on Sky, the Blues cut prices across the board for the visit of the fifth-placed Baggies.

Adult tickets cost £10, seats for under-23s and under-19s £5 and under-12s £3. Tickets are available on the gate, online or in Planet Blue.

Clap banners will be handed out to all supporters ahead of the match with manager Paul Lambert hoping for a "vibrant" atmosphere as he looks for his first win in charge of Town, while there are Black Friday offers at Planet Blue, in the FanZone and the Hall of Fame restaurant.

Absolutely brilliant from Town, yes including the clap banners. Making Portman Road a rocking stadium once again!!

Given how this squad has crumbled under pressure, putting the added weight of 22.000, plus clap banners, plus the dreaded Sky TV cameras and it could all come across as highly daunting rather than exciting.

Having said that, good on the Club for trying, the fans will give it everything, and the team has to turn a corner at some point so why not tonight?

Needs to turn soon if we are to survive and have a team good enough to take it to the Scum in Feb and (hopefully) derail their season a bit !

COYB - 3-1 to the Town (natch)

Probably still only open half the turnstiles! People not knowing where to go think I'll get down there early and watch the madness also stick the clappers

Lighten up peeps! The club is finally getting on the fans side, Clap banners are harmless. Just get behind the town and enjoy the evening!

COYB's!

Best way to get rid of corporate supporting equipment (which, incidentally is better than nothing) is for fans to bring their own flags and banners and make some noise! As they do everywhere on the continent. Hope PR really rocks tonight, win or lose.

A lot of us would arrive early if the match hadn't been moved to a Friday evening and we didn't all have to work.

Blimey, 22,000. For a team that's been in the doldrums for most of the past decade and currently having our worst season for a long, long time and still propping up the div with hardly any league wins all year, I think that's quite impressive. COYB!!

Weird logic parkinshair considering this is our 2nd highest gate of the season, the highest being a sunday lunchtime kick off.

Clap Banners GRRR. a woman near us has had one all this season, she even bangs it when we get a throw in !!!! so you have an idea how often it is used.

Point for club to note simple economic rule - if the prices go down attendance goes up. Why not £10 for every game (or some other incentives to get supporters in)

Chestnuts wouldn't be fair on the loyal fans and season ticket holders would it

TractorCam, the reduced prices may well be a factor don't you think?

Believe it or not but I had some banter with some of the WBA players this morning in the changing room at my gym ( SBN Hotel). Told them we were playing four up front and that they should be really scared. Their reply was ' your team will need to park the tractor in goal tonight the way we play'. Hopefully they will underperform and we can witness a home victory with or without those damm clappers !

Sadly I will be counted but won't be there due to switch to Friday night.
Cheap tickets don't make up for that

At least the club knows it isn't prepared for big crowds, half the lower North bars had run out of beer before the game.
