Ward Likely to Be Out for Nine Months
Thursday, 27th Dec 2018 15:39

Town midfielder Grant Ward is expected to be out for around nine months with the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered a QPR yesterday. Earlier this afternoon, the 24-year-old revealed that he would miss the rest of the season.

“Grant will see a specialist tomorrow and we will guided from there,” Town physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“It’s a complete rupture of the cruciate in his left knee [ACL]. We now know that and with that type of injury you are looking at around a nine-month recovery period.”

By the time he returns to fitness Ward will be out of contract with his terms up in the summer, although the club has an option to keep him for a further season.

Genuine question, when was the last time an ITFC manager had a full squad if players to pick from? I don't think it happened during MM's time? Now it looks like you can add the 2018/19 season to the list.

Essentially we've got no fit experienced midfielders. No experienced VhZmpionship strikers on the books, and by snd large two dodgy hero's and shyte back four. Where does Lambert start invsll honesty?

We need to ship out costly dead wood ,( Huws and Adeyemi ) ..,,. Scrap that . Just dump the whole bloody lot of them, and start again!

What an effing mess !!

Plainly frustration and fractious comment are to the fore !
The physical strains of Championship football were well enunciated during Mick's time ,but of course derided !
Do we never learn ,or is it we don't want to ?
Let's be positive ,we are where we are and must cope ; cut the gripes , applaud all and every effort and give PL just every encouragement !

By the look of your spelling you've had a few 😁 but a drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts.

Easily the worst collection of players this club has had in living memory.

Great post 👏

sears is an experienced championship striker, i expect he'd do alright in the VhZmpionship too!
they're by no means the worst squad we've had, but not the best time to be developing the likes of dozzell/jackson/downes etc with so little experience around them.
difficult balancing act for lambert, if he brings in experience it'll be at the expense of the youth and developing players, which will be unpopular, if he doesn't you can't see where we're going to get enough points from...

Feel sorry for the lad but come on he scored 3 goals many moons ago and has given us absolutely nothing since. Another position to fill as well as the other 10 places that don't deserve to wear the shirt... Terrible terrible team no muscle no guts and certainly no pride!!!!!! Lambert yeah he talks and says blame me? Surely he must show them how to pass the ball and it actually helps if you pass to the same coloured shirt? So Nolan can't pass so what can he do....... Sorry this is such a poor team...

I feel desperately sorry for him and wish him a speedy recovery. However in terms of ITFC he has done little since his debut hat trick. Another lightweight disappointing under achiever.

Hmmm. Convenient length of time. I reckon he's pregnant.

I blame all the injuries on Mick McCarthy's training regime.

Blimey! Have some of you had a bad Christmas or what? Here is a young player - one of our own - who has suffered a serious setback in his chosen career. What happened to empathy? Hope your recovery goes well, Grant, and that you can get back to playing sooner rather than later. Whether that is with us or somewhere else is probably not the most important right now.

How sad that some posters on here have no understanding of how injuries occur and even worse have no sympathy for a player who will be sidelined for 9 months. I hope Ward recovers and fulfills his potential wherever he is next season.

Desperately unlucky. Perhaps those of you mocking his ability would just like to pause a moment and think about the mental impact on this young professional of being told he is out of action for nine months. Where is the outpouring of sympathy which accompanied the similar situation with Dozell last year? Come on, ITFC fans, we're usually better than this.

Oh dear. Feel sorry for the player and hope for a speedy recovery.

In terms of our squad? Others have already said what I think.

Been watching that first QPR goal again and again, still can't work out who he was actually trying to pass it 2.
